This thread proves that open democracy is a complete failure as a concept.

Nobody is as stupid as all of us combined.

The real thing going on here is "I use jump jets" vs. "I don't use jump jets" and that is just the saddest thing possible.

yes i totally agree ignorant people like you shouldn't be allowed to vote. i use jump jets on my jenners and catapults, and i approve this patch.

This is an odd statement considering it was everyone else's inability to learn to deal with poptarters that caused the change. In other words the poptarters are not the ones with a learning issue.

EXCEPT the pop snipers have thrown more of a hissy fit in these past few hours than any of us who mentioned that we wanted jump jet shake. they have done far more to invalidate their own arguments then we ever could have.

The point is balance.

Making something nearly impossible isn't balance.

The reticle shake and convergence removing while jumping is fine. But asking me to spot the brown patch on the brown map using a brown camera filter while pretending Michael J Fox is shooting the movie, isn't balance. Its obnoxious.

damn i must be Tom Cruise because i was doing mission impossible for several hours yesterday. hitting jagers and atlai in the face with the ERPPC on my jenner did not seem that difficult. dude! does this mean i have some sort of special super power?

my bet is the screen shake, because that was a little rough to look at.

I wonder. Has anyone tested the effects of an A1 jump jetting while shooting SRMs/SSRMs loadout? (ie: No accuracy on SRMs / No lock-on for SSRMs)

i have for the catapult C4. i had no issues hitting even the small mechs like ravens, although the damage was crap so even a solid direct hit was at best annoying.

I've never had motion sickness from playing a game(except maybe some Wii), but it's happening now with this shake.

I support the idea, but not the implementation of it.

+1 to petition.

New to the forums? I would say the reaction is mild at best in comparison to some of the QQ around here. Most of the negative reaction I have seen talks about feeling nauseated by the shake, which sounds like a legitimate concern to me. The shaking reticule isn't what makes you miss its the random direction of fire. They could tone the shake down as its effect is only visual, which would focus the nerf more to just poptarting, and not light maneuverability which is effected as well at this point.

I primarily run a Jenner. Played for several hours last night and I thought the jump jet changes were fine. I use jump jets often, and I especially love to use them to hop over an obstacle and come down firing on an enemy mech on the other side. It's definitely harder to aim now, but I thought it was fine and don't mind the changes.

However, I also don't suffer from motion sickness. So, if it is established that a significant percentage of the playerbase are indeed feeling sick because of the shake, then I wouldn't be opposed to it being toned down a little.

Otherwise, I say keep it. I thought it really added to the challenge and immersiveness.

My two cents.

I play this game as much as anyone, and what I've noticed is that it is the players who have piloted nothing but the 732 PPC-Gauss pop tart over the last couple months are the ones that are most upset at the jump jet changes because they may actually have to play a different style. I`ve moved on and adapted already, and many others have as well. The Atlas is once again a competitive assault option... mission accomplished PGI, keep the shake exactly how it is.

Oh no, you all don't get to have the change reverted. You all wanted this change, and you got it. Now you get to live with it.

Its a little disorienting but I can handle it- still, as someone who has had problems with certain game effects in the past, I can sympathize. Then again, what alternatives do you propose to deal with for poptarting?

adapt and move on!!

i get sea sick on boats...you know what i don't do? BUY A BOAT!

if JJ's are gettting you up to a point where you feel sick well quit whining to try and get anything that resembles your old poptart back and CHANGE MECHS or maybe REMOVE JJ's

PS: Talking to a lot of people that play this game and no one is getting sick....NO ONE....its clear poptarters just want to cling on to anything that gives them hope to see the use of weapons while jumping back in the game

PPS: if you are actually getting sick and playing with a **** bucket.....i meant a puke bucket beside you well thats rough and you sir are a mech trooper

and i am one of those people that believes the VISUAL EFFECTS should be toned down, but there are also plenty out there who want to can the whole patch, because poptarting is a "legitimate tactic".

Time to adapt poptarts... That's what you told everyone when we complained about your absurd tactic and meta abuse.

Its your turn! ADAPT ALREADY!

JJs giving you a headache? Don't use them. Take more breaks. You had your way and made the game pretty miserable for myself and some others I know...now its your turn to pay the price for your absurd tactics. JJs are for map navigation, not to pop up from behind a ridge and alpha over and over. Gone are your days of taking the fun out of the game!

QFT. Where are they now?

Poptarting is a legitimate tactic, and still is. It's harder now, but not impossible. I tried it out with a BJ and it isn't that hard just to shoot on the way down. As with everything people just need to adapt. Adapt to the poptarter, adapt to harder poptarting, adapt to LRMs... people complain too much.
