just a pretty simple job as the "Poll-verizer" since nov-4-2011
to find out what the people think.
don't forget to comment your thoughts

my thoughts
i don't mind screenshake but i think it needs to be reduced just a tad bit
(mw2 had no jj screen shake,mw3 had no jumpjet screenshake,mw4 had none either)

It brought an unrealistic and abused mechanic back into line. What's not to like about it?

While it needs to be adjusted for weight, it's a great addition and a whole lot more realistic than no shake at all. You're flying a 20+ ton machine with no aerodynamic properties, it's NOT going to be a smooth ride.

Really not flamebaiting here, but what's your standard for a realistic shake?

In a game set over a thousand years in the future where you pilot 40 foot, 100 ton war machines firing particle weapons powered by a fusion reactor, I'm not sure there is such a thing.

I love it for what it does for the game balance.

But the implementation is pretty harsh on my eyes.

I love the fact that the meta has shifted yet again and the poptart crutch is gone.

those who say it's nauseating, just use a wider FOV and you'll be fine

It won't really stop poptarting if that was pgi's actual intention, but man is it good to at least feel like piloting a mech while jump jetting. (now if they can just put in walking/running shake and impairing terrain effects this will start to feel more like I am driving a giant stompy robot)

Edit: Bad grammar is bad

For the lighter 'Mechs it does, but they've already stated they'll be adjusting it to weight later in the month. As for your remarks about the old Mechwarrior games, they were great in their time, but they did a lot of things wrong. I personally played MW4 Mercs online a lot, and jump snipers DOMINATED that game. I'm glad that PGI are taking a more balanced, realistic view of how jumpjets should work.

This is meant to be the evolution of the Mechwarrior franchise, not a rehash of the older games, I think this is a step in the right direction.

it's the best thing since peanut butter and jelly...BIG thumbs up PGI. Nailed it on the money. Sometimes you have gone to the extreme on things and sometimes not enough, but the jumpjet shake is perfect.

Yeah nobody ever jumped in video games.

It did need to be brought back in line, though.

ANY amount of shake would have been welcome. I won't say they knocked it out of the park on the first pitch, but they came damn close. I think Lights and Mediums could use a little love, but other than that, a badly needed mechanic to curb what was going on. Let's face it... shooting while jumping was easier than shooting while moving along the ground. Rocks or a dip here and there and you would miss some shots. This is 10x more realistic.

Screen shake, not reticle shake.

One affects combat. The other has zero effect on combat, but has an unfortunate nauseating effect on some players.

If you don't have a clue what you're talking about, it's better to not talk.

It could be reduced overall (to a good vibration), but keep the reticle going crazy.

Your head and eyes can adjust pretty well to shaking so it should be reduced a little bit, but the weapons on HARDPOINTs should still go nuts.

-EDIT------------------
Overall, much better now than before- and I'm a JJ user.
