Okay so in the development update today it stated that the quickdraw would be coming out the 18th instead of the orion, PLEASE TELL ME THIS IS A TYPO. I like the quickdraw and all but I have been waiting for the orion for a very long time and I'm going to be very disappointed if the quickdraw ( which doesn't even have released artwork yet) makes it in before the orion which has been announced and has had its artwork available for quite some time now. I hope it was only a typo and they meant to announce that the quickdraw will either be the next mech after the orion or they were just stating that the quickdraw will be a confirmed mech or something.

WHAT why 3-4 months? the only reason I have even been playing this week is to save up to buy the orion

Bright side: Now you have LOTS of time to save up for the Orion and all the goodies you could possibly want for it!

is there a reason why they decided to switch the two mechs? I would think that more people would want to drive an iconic and fan favorite mech like the orion over the quickdraw, I dont see why they wouldn't just put the quickdraw in the next cycle since this is literally the first time they have ever mentioned the mech.

No, that is why there is outrage. Although, some people do like the iconic Orion (it was in MW3, not sure in any of the other MW games, but it's been around)... so, I can't say that I know the reason for any of this.

No, nobody knows the reason as far as I've read. Probably to keep it looking "unique" as the original art showed, and retain the modular tube arm with lasers (and with missiles on the other Orion variants). Perhaps the model is simply taking more time for quality pass. What's nice about the Orion concept is that it looks more "old school" like the original artwork.

I have been looking forward to this thing since they dropped the artwork in December. In my formative years the Orion was my main ride in both MW2: Mercs and MW3.

Needless to say, yesterday's announcement of the QuickDraw was a surprise (I'm putting this in the most civil way I can). I couldn't be more surprised, even if I woke up tomorrow morning with my face sewn to the carpet.

I know PGI does not exist to cater to the needs of CarnifexMaximus, nevertheless, I am disappointed. I was very much looking forward to getting my hands on the Orion in June when I have a whole summer of free time before I get busy with things in September. This clearly is not going to happen.

Eh, I have waited 6 months I guess 3 months more is not gonna kill me. I really hope there is a good ******* reason it got delayed. The 2 other mechs I have been excited for (Cataphract & Jagermech) were temporaily lemons on arrival, so hopfuly pgi can get its **** together and release something that works out of the box. What I want to know, is there anyone who is seriously stoked on the QuickDraw, someone who is experiencing the polar opposite of how I feel re: this issue?

Too bad the Orion wasn't pushed back because UrbanMech on June 18th. Nobody expects the UrbanMech Inquisition! A Mech's a Mech though. If the quickdraw is butt ugly, I'll gladly melt other mech faces with it.

All will be forgiven if they keep the canon positioning of the mlas (two of them are facing the rear) :).

Well I have 60m saved for the Orion so bit pissed to be honest.

Sensible question here, when did PGI say that the Orion was coming this month?

No, but no previous announcements where made with respect to the next heavy and the Orion was the only one left, so it was a reasonable logical conclusion.

Here's the "reasoning" behind this disastrous idea:

Quickdraw offered more diversity to the meta game at this point in time so we pushed it up a cycle.

Missiles, lasers, and jumpjets on a 'mech that will largely obsolete the Dragon (not that it was popular in the first place) is the diversity we need over a real brawler (75 tons, lots of arm-mounted weapons, and a good range of arm movement )?

Son, I am disappoint.
