Many of the poptart haters have claimed that a continuous vectored thrust would cause "shake" in the vehicle while under the thrust load moment. Allow me to present the Harrier Jump Jet.

By all means please explain where the shake is?
It doesn't bother me that poptarting is practically dead. It was getting boring and honestly I was terrible at it. What I am worried about is the continuous dumbing down of the game with heavy handed nerfs because people would rather complain and create new physical laws out of thin air then engage their brain housing group and come up with creative methods to counter viable tactics. I just hope your happy with what the future is going to bring now that poptarts are gone.
Atlas online?
Splat / streak online?
LRM online?
We'll see. One thing I know, the goods will roll with the punches. The bads will keep trying to dumb down the game until it's Hello Kitty Online.

I am not an applied physics wannabe nor a technical person, but I believe the Harrier either rotates its turbines or/and uses flaps to adjust their airflow and hover while mechs use rockets to jump. They are totally different systems in principle and function.

1> Its a mech trying to fly not a dedicated aircraft
2> The harrier does experience shake under hover, just less than a mech because its specifically designed with things like large wings that help compensate for this. Full aerospace mechs would also not suffer penalties to shooting while hovering.

this is a valid concern and i share it as well, but i disagree that the screen shake constitutes dumbing down. what it did was take an tactic that was SO easy and SO effective that anyone and EVERYONE really had no choice but to do it, and made it so that it required a lot of skill to do right. so now in order to be able to pull off effective pop sniping you have to practice it a lot in order to be good at it. that's actually the opposite of dumbing down. don't you want tactics to require skill?

Ideally what we should be striving for is all of these things and more. we want poptarting, lrms, srms, streaks, assaults, lights, sniping, brawling, all of it should be viable and balanced. the previous situation of popsniping being the only viable tactic was not acceptable. maybe they nerfed it too hard as PGI has tendency to do, but it was still the right move to nerf
