The DRG-1C is my main mech so it'll be fun to see how this 60-tonner will compare with the added mobility of jumpjets.

Clans are a LOT further out than the Orion. By a factor of 2 or 3.

I'm very disappointed by this. I was looking forward to the Orion, I love the 75 ton range and it's Kerenski's mech. That means it holds a special place for both IS and Clan fans, as he was General of the Star League Defense Force and then creator of the Clans. A major lore figure's battlemech.

I like the surprise of releasing an unannounced mech and I get the joke "Quickdraw" it's getting launched "fast" from our point of view. However, it is a very bad move and poor choice to have it jump in front of the Orion, one of the most iconic mechs in Battletech lore. Especially with the given "excuse" and that's exactly what it is, an excuse. The Quickdraw does not bring anything new at all as has already been mentioned. The Orion is a new weight that currently has nothing holding it's place and it's a well rounded platform. It's also better setup for a hero mech (more money in PGI's pocket, even without a hero.).

As it stands, had I found out about this before I bought the Firebrand and MC in anticipation of the Orion, I wouldn't have purchased the Firebrand or MC.

PGI has shown themselves to be fans of Battletech, I don't know how they could have let something like this fly. It's a major let down and as fans themselves, should have anticipated this type of reaction.

great redesign of a still crappy mech. there isn't enough armor on those quickdraws to make even a treb break out into a sweat.

Has it previously been mentioned or noted that this is the first mech announcement that doesn't have a number? This would have been Battlemech 21: Quickdraw just a few weeks ago.

It would look better if theenergy barrels on the arms get bigger with LL or PPC. Looks pretty goood for the base Legs will probably be closer together in the final model (I'm guessing)

Sure, he was the Commanding General of the SLDF, but he sucked at his job as regent, essentially paving the way for Amaris cause he preferred playing soldier, then he was a strategic ***** who wasted his army in ten years of civil war instead of going straight for Terra and ripping Stephan a new one, and he was a mentally scarred and tired coward who left the recovering Hegemony for the Scavenger Lords to pillage by running off with the SLDF, which included the entirety of the Hegemony Armed Forces (minus militias) at this point. And then he proved unable to keep his SLDF in Exile together, resulting in another civil war just as bad as SW1, just on less planets. Great man, really!
Oh, and the Clans were his sons brilliant idea, years after Aleksandr died.

It's fine that you're adding new mechs, but next time you make changes, you need to tell people why you're doing so instead of just throwing things out of the blue.

I farmed tons of cbills for my Orions, so I am a bit disappointed that it is not coming out, but I do like the artwork for the Quickdraw and it would be a nice compliment to my Highlander.

To all those people that are saying Dragon will die - I was the first person to do ER Large Laser/Gauss (I started running that build when I first bought my 1N, just before Cataphract was added to the game, is one of my best snipers and shall be once again when I rebuild it). Dragon is a sniper, like an Awesome. You don't take it into the front lines to brawl unless you're a complete moron or your target has paper-thin armor/one leg/is a Raven (Well, then again, I try to remove the Raven's leg at range, it's too easy). It's also agile for a heavy mech, and the lack of jumpjets doesn't hurt it when you consider how accurate it can be over long range. Yes, there are other heavies that can do the same sort of builds, but to be fair, poptarts got nerfed this patch with the JJ shake.

This mech, to contrast my Dragon, is a brawler. Jumpjets, close-range weapons? You theoretically could load it with PPCs and LRMs like a Highlander, but then you end up as bait for skilled snipers. Besides, my Dragon normally would get the arm-mounted Gauss removed, and would still have the LT-mounted ER Large shooting. I predict variations of the SRM/laser builds for this thing. Or Zombie builds without XLs. (Zombie Centurion with an XL is kinda self-defeating, but I normally see Wangs with that sort of build...)

I don't believe that other post that claims the Orion's arms needs fixing, angles and all. I also don't believe that other reason that claims that the Orion adds to the current energy - ballistic sniper meta, considering that the Victor actually adds more to that, and the Orion is more of a Jack of all Trades mech that happens to feature considerable missile support on a weight category that is dominated by ballistics and PPCs. The layout of the Orion doesn't suggest it favors boating.

I think the real reason is that the Orion and the Victor both performs similarly, with the same speed and are only 5 tons apart. PGI flinched because they think people are going to bypass buying the Orion and go for the Victor instead.

As for me, I am all set to buy an Orion and a Victor, both to try out, similar or not, and might even master both. But I am not likely to buy a Quickdraw. In this game, there are two kinds of mechs for me. The mechs that I end up buying, and the mechs that is only another target for me.

Am i the only one who is looking forward to this mech? i didnt like the dragon because of the hard point restrictions but this mech seems to be all about offense and speed which i entirely in favor of. Eventually the Orion will be in MWO but you people have to learn patience.

The main meta difference between Orion and Victor now is the same as between Quickdraw and Trebuchet - weight class. By taking Victor or Quickdraw you offer enemy team an opportunity to roll out anything up to Atlas or Cataphract (now)/Orion (later), respectively. By taking Orion or Trebuchet you have chances to be balanced against lighter mechs of your weight class.
