since we already have cool shots for energy weapons who would be in favor of this for ammunition based weapons?

Imagine the imbalances of this concept alone... how would you magically explain a ton of ammo being added to a mech? Modules are supposed to be weightless, NOT MAGIC.

No. Ive said this before and I will say it again.
Stupid coolshot is borderline pay to win as it is, and never should have been added to the game. PGI went back on their word on this one.

No. I dont feel that they should slap a Bandaid or add another pay to win (CBills or MC) mechanic to the game. How about they just address the problem, and fix it? The thing is, doubling ammo only creates diversity. When we see 12v12 matches, diversity will go down as ammo dependent systems will become less desirable.

They would be much better if they were the coolant pods,1 ton,1 crit space, 1 use per game with charged pods exploding for 20 points of damage when hit. Sure you can get away with running a bit hotter but you got to give up something to mount them or invest in ferro armor or endo steel.

Also, a coolshot is nowhere near a replacement for a heatsink- it helps you squeeze out a little more, once. An extra ton of ammo helps for a long while. Not to mention, ac2 and ac20 already benefit quite a lot from coolshot already. They don't need an extra ammo drop.

It wouldn't have to be ammo magically appearing, it could be, like the artillery strike, you mark a location and then go that location to slowly start reloading. Bonus points if, like the UAV, it could be destroyed with potential for ammo cook off.

I think if it's destructible on the ground it doesn't need to be a destructible air asset as well. One or the other would probably suffice. Unless there was enough ammo for the entire team on the platform, in which case, yeah, it could probably be both.
