The ballastics and missiles have gotten their attention in regards to graphics/type representation. I think its time for the energy weapons as well.

If your talking about how weapons modify the physical looks on mechs, its coming, slowly.

But color coding the lenses based on the laser is a nice idea. Blue for large lasers, green for medium lasers, and red for small lasers.

Or just make them all UV lasers. Then, they'd be invisible unless you were in thermal. Would be kinda awesome. :-)

But that would be no fun!

Of course, it would be realistic.

I'd have fun if they made my Jenner's lasers invisible. >:-)

Visual lasers are a big part of BattleTech. I'm sure there's some kind of in-universe explanation for it, too, like it was a deliberate choice back in the mists of time (centuries before 3050, anyway), intended to help with military discipline and command and control functions or something like that.

I'd love to see lasers get color-coded lenses. Flamers have a distinct muzzle already, but I don't know if they actually get swapped out right now when you put them on (or replace them if they're stock). PPCs should have a slight barrel extension and a lens (darker blue than the LL lens maybe?). ERPPCs would lengthen the barrel even more (still shorter than any of the ACs though).

This is covered in the first few novels that people not wearing neurohelmets only saw a blinding dot of light created as the armor/target was superheated. ...with neurohelmets they were rendered visible.

That makes a lot of sense, actually. Thank you. Haven't gotten that far into the novels yet.

How far did you get? I think it's covered in #1...
