Refuse To Pug

Somehow I cant feel bad for you though. Your post basically says "I usually run 4 man groups but tried to PUG and it was too hard, so now im going to stop trying and just wait for my teammates ezmode" This validates some of my biggest gripes about the 4 man group mindset. 90% of the time when I encounter a 4 man while pugging they start the match with trolling and derision, they continue this for the duration of the match, then when its over they troll even their own team calling them names and other childish things.
I have a suspicion that some of the more immature characters I have encountered wouldnt be able to PUG even "IF" they tried because they lack the skill and or leadership to accomplish anything. They are group feeders worthless without the pack =) and this is not all group players - ive encountered many who were actually good / critical thinkers etc but many others are mindless / functioning only inside a group of people who they can relate to.
A truly good player can be good anywhere PUGS included =) As to OP welcome to the game the rest of us have to play. Its frustrating but the experience varies from the extreme high to the extreme low, the trick is not letting yourself get upset (which I am sometimes guilty of as well)

PUGs will listen. You just have to try and guide them. There times when they won't, however. That's part of the game.
This. People will, for the most part, pay attention to the little map markers if you use the command map; even more so now with the audible notifications, it seems. Some won't. Most at least try.

I pug from time to time when I don't feel like playing for the hours and hours I tend to lose when I join a group. I've had fantastic matches and I've had terrible ones. I tend to remember only the exceptional ones, being a human and therefore vulnerable to confirmation bias. It seems to be pretty much entirely random, just as intended.

Pugging is fine, and it's fun until you get a team full of people that obviously can't even tie their own shoes..
Oh well

It has more to do with user looking at other things like aiming their shots or trying to move to cover or dealing with a light up their butt.
In this game you don't have a lot of time to read.

Sure, sometimes you get steamrolled, but since the guys I group with don't typically coordinate builds or tactics, or even stick together, we get rolled frequently by other groups.
Not talking about my merc corp here, FYI, other people I know.

When you drop take note of your lance grouping. If you’re an assault or heavy and are a slow mover, find the mech that can best support you and you it. When you find that mech you stick with them support each other. If you’re a light if you see another light tear-assing right out the gate, 99% of the time they have a purpose. Go support the light, whether it is cap pull or capping targets.
Make note of the people who are communicating in chat. If a LRM boat is asking for targets, hook them up and lock on. If you call out targets and lock on and no one fires on them, don't get mad. They could be getting attacked by a pack of lights. Check your situational awareness. Find out who on your team needs help and adjust. It’s not just about you sniping or brawling or getting your kills.
I pilot lights and what I have noticed is that light pilots don't need much communication in PUGs. We see a light we automatically move toward each other. When one light makes a move to cap or attack, we move as one. I would hope that is what you Assaults and Heavies sort of do when you pug.
What to do and look for when you PUG drop:
What type of match is it? If a cap match and you are a slow mover find another slower and support each other. Look to help out the lights that have moved ahead to cap. You know they will get jumped at one of the middle cap points. Think ahead and be there for them.
What is my lance group make-up? This is your priority for getting and giving support. PGI went to all that trouble to make it easy to find your lance group. If you see two of them move off in one direction and one goes in another, it’s your call which group to support but pick one and go watch their back.
PUGs are the ultimate challenge for real players. You have no comm, no idea what their play style is and you’re thrown together to work as a team and try to win. I love PUGs and I am very successful with them. I am adaptive to the battle situation, my team composition, and my teams’ non-verbal goals.
There are no bad PUGs, just selfish players.

Yes, I've seen your post where you defend premades.
" This is MechWarrior ONLINE .. a Team base multiplayer experience. If you do not like it ... Leave
If you feel its not worth playing against teams ... Leave
If you dont want to join a team due to your own Ego .... Leave"
You play PUG's.... and get slaughtered (i mean face coordinated teams)... and complain about PUG drops...
