Someone just made a thread on this, so forgive me for doing this, but I put together what in my mind is the penultimate poll for figuring out Battletech experience.

Please don't vote like a goon :lol:

Hopefully the poll works because it took me forever to build. And hopefully I covered everything pretty well.

Also, please keep this thread afloat. I'm very curious as to what this poll will look like in a few days, and what it'll show about the popularity or even how much people know about certain elements of the franchise.

Oh crescent hawk's inception, I totally forgot I played that when I was really young. I never did findt that LAM back then...

Heh, I played it briefly about a year ago just to see what it was all about.

I didn't get very far into it because the graphics were hard to stomach, but it's amazing how impressive and deep the game was, especially for the time period.

Brings back memories of computer game artwork from that era :lol:

Minor comment: the language of the tabletop questions (e.g., "prefer") leaves us either making conflicting choices, or forced to choose between alternatives. How does one correctly respond when the fact is: "played a great deal of both pre-and-post clan invasion, am happy to play any period, so long as it's pre-dark-age, and level 1/2 rules only"?

That's... a very good point. In hindsight I could've fleshed it out a little more but I don't want to change the poll too much. I did the best I could :lol:

The first part (played pre-clan) simply refers to when you started playing tabletop. So if you started playing before TRO 3050, you'd pick of the first three options. If you're happy with pre- and post-clan but only pre-dark age, then in your case, your best option sounds like it would be
And then don't vote on the 'prefer advanced rules'. Though I'm about to add a "I don't prefer advanced rules" option.




Ultimately the possibilities of it was too great, but what I was trying to find out is what timeframe people prefer to play their games in relative to when they started playing.

I understand that it's complex, and your choices make sense. Basically, I just like big stompy robots. With lasers. And missiles. And hula girls.
