Ecm Is Still Killing Rule Warfare

I have sensor module level 2. 15k+ GXP. I have BAP (same weight and slots as the ECM).
And i still cant target anyone from the enemy team when they have an ECM. Unless i run really close to them, to get targeted by them. So with all the GXP and credits i spend for the advanced sensors, i have less target range as someone who is standing in the ECM bubble. Do you call this balanced? That someone with just one piece of equipment (ECM) has more bonus as someone who try to do his role warfare (that you promoted this much)? Tell me. What else can i do to try to get a lock for our LRM and brawler? Is there something that i dont see? Or is the ECM the ultimate scout counter without any way to negate it?
And thanks to the nice new module, called seismic sensor, they see me even when i am in their back. 400m away. Not even in target range for myself and they see me already coming. Really nice.
I have no problem with the ECM bubble and sensor disruption within it. But i have a problem that this piece of.... can disrupt the sensors of someone who is standing 1000m away. If you want to do it this way, make it that the BAP can as well reach this far!
Give the game the role warfare back. And allow lights to scout again. The way it is right now is total unbalanced. For certain roles.

Oh you mean locking up targets for LRMs?
I TAG just fine in my spider.

Seismic changes coming next week. We'll see what they do

And unless i am wrong (correct me if i am) reduce an ECM my target range to lousy 312m? And this is with Sensor Module 2 and BAP. Really much in range of every single weapon and within target range of them.
Sure, i can scout and tell them where i see them. Great way. But i cant taget them and cant help the LRM mechs this way. For me this ECM is destroying the reason for light mechs (maybe the reason there are not so many out there anymore). All i can do is capping the base and hope i can distract enough of them.

No TAG negates ECM altogether.. so long as you've got them painted.

TAG has a range of 750m. If you hit a target with a TAG laser, it will let you target him. Even if he is in ECM.
This works as long as you're not covered by enemy ECM yourself.

I mean, after all, this makes it not better. 750m is still WAY to close. In this distance you will get targed yourself without any modules or equipment. So its still not helping.
What does it help when i have all these modules and equipment to increase my target range when one lousy ECM can negate all.

Any mech you hit with a tag inside 750m (the range of the TAG) will then be targetable by you. Try things like getting behind them. If your not in the front arc you will not be picked up on their radar. Just keep in mind, you start hitting targets with a tag and they are going to start looking for you. Only TAG if you have a reason to lock them up, such as a LRM boat looking to engage a target.
Otherwise just tell your teammates what grid they are in and let them know where the enemy is moving. There is more to scouting than just running around and hitting 'R'.
The modules are not ment to be 'I win' buttons, just to increase capabilities slightly. Granted seismic is a little OP right now, but thats not really an issue here when your talking about 750m being too close.
Compared to what it was when it first came out, ECM is terribly weak now.

Scouting is usually only useful if you're part of an 8 man group with teamspeak, I think. Most PUGs don't take advantage of scouts, so you're left TAGing and NARCing mechs while all the assault mechs on your team run after a Spider on the opposite end of the map.
As for "bring back role warfare", as far as I know, it was abandoned before it was ever implemented.

For the dev team the ECM is fine. Really funny. Even after the change a way to OP piece of equipment.
Why not just make it switchable. One mode and you can change what mode you want. Right now its an "ultimate all in one". Way to many features and boni for the weight and drawbacks (the only one is the chassis that can use it).
Edit: Suggestion: Change it that every mech can use it. And check with your Data (that you hopefully have), how much more ECM will SUDDENLY be used. And decide for yourself if this increase of use is OP or not. My bet would be shocking.

We already know what will happen. Everyone will start magically finding an extra 1.5 tonnes to mount their ECM. Unfortunately, the Devs haven't realized this yet.

Seismic didn't kill scouting it made it good. There are proper ways to scout and bad ways to do it.
If you are trying to scout do it right. Get far away use tag if your spotting but if your scouting the point is to not be seen.
I'll give you a great example. I have seismic on my Jenner so on frozen city i sprinted to the back where Theta usually is and then STOPPED MOVING. I was able to 1 see how many people were getting close and no one noticed me because I wasn't moving. Called out the amount which part of the quadrant then proceeded to wait till they were past so i could sprint to the cap point without anyone noticing.
What was bad was then 2 lol i'm sneaky with ecm ravens that sprintint along the canyon wall and basically yelled im over here and the entire team turned around and chased us. Lucky for us the other team was pretty bad and we still won the round but still There is a good way to scout and a lazy way. Seismic just made it more apropriate.
PS at 400 M i should still be able to here big stompy mech walking with or without module, massive mech means lotsa noise.

My favorite was when my team were called cheaters repeatedly as their entire team stood under my UAV cowering at epsilon in caustic, and proceeded to be LRMed into oblivion. I didn't even realize my team consisted of LRM boats (just my one premade person), and only threw it up in the first place cause a cicada and raven were ******* me off. Next thing I know 8 triangles appear, I bolt, and their entire team died within 45 seconds, barely even firing counter shots since 3 of them kept saying how it was BS that we were nuking them while they had ECM while we laughed.
