Aimed weapon? On an A1? Like regular SRMs? Funny how 4 months ago I used over 100 SRMs chasing an earless Catapult (he was fleeing in a straight line as well) with my A1 back when SRM dealt 2.5 damage. Guess what? I shut down due to excessive heat from firing 100+ SRMs (4 volleys of 36 missiles), and the ****** managed to run out of bounds and cheated me of a kill.

Can't imagine the wet noodle SRMs of today will perform any better.

Missiles just suck against back armor.

There's a reason I think the A1 is a terrible chassis, nothing but missiles.
That said I've opened backs and killed mechs with SRMs back before the nerfs.

It must have something to do with range and hitboxes what not. Needs to be fixed.

I'm getting pretty convinced it's to do with the target's speed. They seem to behave as if the missiles hits, stops to explode, and the mech leaves the explosion before it takes damage. I'd assumed it as a perception error until the whole thing with the splash came up, which makes me think they might actually operate something like that.

And why should I change my mind if I get hit by 4 streaks?
I use the streaks to scare lights away which does work so far. It takes around 5 volleys to kill a light but it rarely happens. Normally lights pick their fights and go for easier targets after they see my weaponloadout.

Streaks v an Assault has always been death by paper cuts. As an Atlas I don't fear a few streaks, Cause though I will take damage my Gauss, 2x Large and 3x SRM6 pack way more pain on a little Mech.

Targeting mechanism. In short, they will deal up to 6-7 times LESS damage to the CT based on enemy mech type and bad luck. Ridiculous, I know.

S-SRMs are undergoing a revamp on their targeting solutions. There are 7 bones that are randomly selected by each SSRM missile. Right now, those bones are located at joints rather than center-points for each of the components. We are looking at changing that so the bones are placed further apart and more toward the center of each component. We are also looking at weighting the torso bones in a manner that make them not a priority for SSRMs. For example, all components would have a weight of 1.0. The Torsos however would take a weighting of 0.35(LT) 0.3(CT) 0.35(RT). The reasoning behind this weighting is that if all the torsos had an equal value of 1, each missile would have a 3/7 chance of going for a torso. Any sort of torso twist/movement would increase the chance of a missile in flight to hit the CT (since it’s the biggest component on a Mech) if they were to target a side torso.

As a spider pilot I think I like this change.
