Really depends.

Raven 3L or Jenner D/F with maxed engines are great light hunter/killers. Especially if you are decent with using SRM's(streak SRM's are decent if you can't get the hang of high speed leading). They also make decent harrassers against larger targets.

I recommend using pulse lasers if you make a light mech into a hunter/killer for light mechs(since it is then a battle of speed vs speed so hitting is more sporadic). Prefer doing it over building medium hunter/killers because I find the style more.. rewarding to me.

I would say a maxed speed Treb with 3 Streaks and some combination of medium/large lasers/pluse lasers and BAP would be your best bet. You will have JJs to counter JJ lights, as much or more speed. BAP to counter ECM, Fire and Forget SRMs that almost always hit and lasers which are easy to aim and track with.

As a light pilot, I probably shouldn't be contributing to this thread, and I haven't tried this build myself, but apparently the Metal Salad is pretty effective at killing lights.
Metal Salad:
CTF-4X
2xLBX10
2xML or 2xMPL
2xMG
1xSRM4
engine, heatsinks, and ammo are preference

As with the vast majority of players, I play a light when the mood strikes me but my "mains" have always been heavy mechs.

From experience the only viable light killer is another light, especially the raven L that has ecm and streaks. Everything else is too slow and a good light pilot will still dictate the distance he engages you at.

I've created plenty of heavy mechs configured to deal with and deter lights from dancing with me, and yes I do kill them with those anti-light configs.... but only he bad pilots that actually stay to fight. Good ones break and engage at range.

I've found them to be pretty bad at light killing, honestly. I can usually take metal salads when in my RVN-3L or 2X. The mgs do nothing to a target as fast as a light, and the lbs hit about half their pellets and spread the damage when they do hit.

The Cat A1 Streakcat with BAP is a good light killer. Light mechs HATE a Streakcat LOL.

I also have good luck with the Hunchback Swayback. 9MLasers to the legs of a light tends to get them a bit angry too.

I've had the best luck with a Jager A with 4 streakers and a couple ERPPC's.
At 86.4 it's not keeping up but on flank you're likely to find some harasser lights.

yeah, what he said. the weapons which dominate lights are streaks (with BAP) and LBX-10! if you really
want to crush them, run a medium or heavy mech with a really large engine... you need a speed of 80+ km/h.
then when you roll up they can barely get away and you tear them apart. they also can't fight you because
you have way too much armor. As mean as this is, here are a few builds which work well

(1) CDA-X5 with 4 ML, 2 streak, BAP

(2) CN9-A with LBX-10, 2 ML, 3 streak, BAP

(3) DGN-1N with LBX-10, 2 MPL, 2 streak, BAP

(4) CPLT-A1 with 6 streak and BAP

(5) HGK-4G with LBX-10, 2 MG, and 3 ML

the problem is most people are running Heavies and Assaults right now (~6), and each team usually only
2 Lights & Mediums due to the Matchmaker being borked and pairing anything up... so everyone brings
Assaults. so you can totaly destroy the 1 light on their team, and then you will spread-out damage to the
Assault walking over the hill to whack you with an AC20 or Gauss

catapult A1, 6x Streak missiles, bap and the biggest XL you can fit. Add jumpjets to spice. Run around like a madan laughing while you blap spiders etc.

Just saying, I have never feared the LBX in my Jenner.
Concentrated damage is the bane of light mechs, since their small profile causes and laser or DPS weapon to scatter across multiple sections.

AC/20, PPCs, multiple AC/10s or AC/5s, streaks (since they home CT), well aimed lasers.

Yen-Lo. Lights love Cents and AC20. I just had to buy a Jenner statue to my Wang cockpit because I kill so many of them.

Yea, I tried a dual LBX in a K2 ("Double Barrel") because I thought it would work well against lights. Saddly, It was not that effective.
