Computer
This interface would allow the player to view the Pilot’s Logbook, which lists important career information, such as pilot name, rank, level, loyalty points and achievements. This is where players upgrade their Mech Trees and Pilot Trees, pledge allegiance to a Faction, join a Mercenary Corporation, or stay neutral as a Lone Wolf. Lastly, this interface shows available contracts and clan/guild recruitments.
Uniform Locker
This interface would allow the player to view the dress uniform with the appropriate rank insignia and all the medals, ribbons, and badges awarded to the player. This reflects your honorable service to your Faction.
Archive
This interface would allow the player to explore the history, technology and politics of the Great Houses & Clans while also displaying the roles and capabilities of BattleMechs (also showing the lore behind Hero ‘Mechs).
Holographic Planetarium
This interface would allow the player to explore the galaxy map, showcasing all the (core/faction/border) worlds involved in the universe for MWO. Players can see which faction holds a particular planet and what resources and perks the planet offers to various factions.
Calendar
This interface would allow the player to view upcoming events planned for their Faction or Mercenary Corporation. Basically, this allows you to setup and invite other clan/guild members to your events. Plan your conquests!
To increase immersion, there will be various screens in the Pilot's Quarters that display ISN News Flashes, Champion & Hero BattleMech Advertisements, and the results of territory battles within Faction Warfare.
Now we're talkin. Been thinking along these lines for the mech bay also and so on. But this screeny is the best ive seen for it yet. I would like first person navigation ultimately of course, and yes I know thats a stretch at this point for sure.
Atmosphere is number one, when isnt it?
Two thumbs up

Having comms here might be a good idea to. Although a public area like a faction muster or pub or something cool would be an idea to. A faction mech dropship loading bay or field maybe?

Something like this idea I'm sure they would do. Creating a pilot face and pilot quarters or something, but way down the road. Hopefully the game evolves to that point eventually.
This was added later in the game. And truthfully it should have been added earlier. Many including me tried eve out and left cause of being stuck outside the ship .Not to be negative just saying. But they didnt have any other interface other than outside the ship with transparent overlays. Mechwarrior will have the mech bay and more i am hoping.

and it would be nice if you could ADD people to your social buddy list when they are not online!
this could also serve as a way to create lances and stuff prior to dropping into missions. idk, sounds nifty, and emmersive as well.
It would be nice if you could also spectate friends matches (probably should be locked to what they see on their screen)- but that might take up too much bandwidth so maybe a real micro-transfer fee might be needed to purchase this ability for a set time period.

The idea of watching matches that i am not able to be in is a great idea, especially if it is an important battle for my faction. Or maybe more importantly, a relevant battle between rival factions.

...and this is one of the few times that I have been very disheartened by the presence of a devpost.
This idea shouldn't be something NEW to you guys, or a reminder of anything, and that; for me, is part of the problem with this devteam.

Really? I mean, heaven knows I rarely have much good to say about PGI's decisions or behaviour, but...really? The dev in question voiced support for the idea whilst following the general pattern of the thread in pointing out examples of games that use a similar model.
Also, for the record, the Freespace frontend would also be a good model for a slightly less personalised take on the idea. For those who don't know, it essentially constituted a 'hangar' with various menus hooked to graphical objects like doors, computers etc. It would translate in concept quite well to a Mechwarrior game using a Mechbay as opposed to hangar, IMO.
Edit: This is what I'm talking about:
...and Freespace 2.....

Though, I would hope for at least some C-Bill options for customization.

Totally, I really loved that feature in Tie-Fighter.
Btw Garth, maybe you guys should approach Disney in the near future... X-Wing vs Tie-Fighter Online!
As least wait until CW and Clans are implemented and all the PGI hate is a thing of the past.

I want to fight in giant robots, not stand in a room. Why? Because I could just stand up, and find myself in a room with a desk and computer.
