Not that I like how much gxp is earned per match, but it's enough to force the player to play in order to get module goodies.

An increase to 10% would not hurt PGIs income but make the grind much more bearable for new and casual players. It still is much faster to convert with MC, I know because that is where much of mine comes from whenever there is a sale on the conversion rate.

P2W vs. convenience is often a matter of balance. In many cases PGI got it more on the convenience side. With GXP, mechbays and Hero mechs not available for CB (- the perks o.c.) they are more on the P2W side for me. I believe a F2P game gets better when the P2W aspect is reduced and more attractive convenience offers are available. Better game means more players, which also makes a multiplayer game better, and more income. So also from the business perspective I vote for a higher ratio of GXP.

It's weird that some don't get the fact that others are not in their tax bracket and those are the ftp opponents they need to make the game viable.

GXP is well-balanced at the moment, but the diurnal double experience should be removed. I could not find the option: "It should be decreased" (in that manner), so I voted for "as it is".

Unfortunately for MWO, the producers have decided to go with a "Free-to-Play" business model. As a consequence game play will always suffer so players will spend money to avoid frustrating game play. The issue you're citing is simply a result of that problem. There is only one solution I can think of to this, but IMO it will probably never be implemented. It's an ultra-premium subscription, which removes all MC limits, and grants "premium" time, but also locks your account permanently so it is no longer free-to-play.

It's my hope that *something* happens to dramatically improve the current system, because I believe the current model will prevent MWO from achieving it's potential. I'm not the kind of person who spends money on a game to avoid a grind. I doubt I'm the only one. I expect the game play to be excellent before I'm willing to fork over the cash.

Think it could be raised to 10% myself, but for now I'm just grateful that the module unlocks are not mech specific... yet. :P

I vote "Other"!

Give us a % slider from 0% to 100% GXP conversion per mech preferrably. And it doesn't have to be that much of a spread so PGI can still have their precious MC sink. Just something more.....

I believe that the rate is fine as it is, except I believe it is a very good idea to increase it for mastered mechs. I find that I don't play them nearly enough after I've mastered them. Sometimes I really want a good game where I can put my mastered mechs to full use, but I can't justify it when I'm working towards mastering other mechs. If it actually got me something I didn't have to spend rl money to use, I'd be more likely to use them and play more in the long run.

The only way I was able to get my GXP up was to convert Mech XP to GXP. I waited till they had a sale on the MC cost and zeroed out several mechs.

Maybe that's their plan - to incentivize people to use MC dollars.

I have 100k+ GXP and nothing to spend it on. I have never converted mech XP to GXP.

GXP gain is about right, but it might be a bit high. Converting excessive GXP to cockpit items could be a good idea.

Yeah after a point you end up with either tons of GXP with nothing to spend it on or GXP but not enough Cbills to utilize what the GXP offers. It eventaully works out in that you'll have bought everything possible with GXP and from there it's just pure time to gain Cbills but it can take a long time.

I just wish the MXP->GXP conversion would accept typed numbers, not just that oversensitive bar.

Camo too expensive
Paint too expensive
Hero mechs too expensive
Champions are useless
Cbill a too low
GXP too slow
XP too slow


There comes a point where people have to pay for something. And unlike the gub'ment PGi just can't print money.

It's only earned too slowly so that PGI can drain your shekels with the XP conversion tool. This makes it really unlikely to change, but that also doesn't make it less stupid.
