First, welcome iNanook and please don't think everyone is like that. You got into a bad group and if you are still around keep playing. And try the training ground out. I've been playing the game for some time and use it regularly.

To bad PGI doesn't group up new players; those with 0-25 matches and fill in the gaps with low ELO players so they can learn the game. Once new players reach 26 matches they're matched up like everyone else is unless they have a low ELO.

Koniving is awesome. That's the thing he did when I first played this game. Fact of the matter, he was the one that helped me the most in-game. I still have to give credit to the forum though, but of all, Koniving was the most constructive and open.

I was just now playing a game and asked the whole group how to turn off arm lock. Some guy tells me alt F4 which kicked me out of the game...WTF

Amen to that. I don't mind noobs either but griefers and mean people are the main problem.

That would be someone making fun of the lack of computer knowledge. So you know Alt F4 is an immediate way to close any, ANY program you have open. This includes Windows itself.

Armlock can be turned off temporarily with left shift. It can be turned off permanently with the Options menu, and the "Armlock" checkbox in the bottom left.

I have never laughed so hard as the other day when my buddy and I were playing and he asks "Hey Dude, how did you turn on 3rd person view again?" to which I responded "Alt+F4". 2 members of the enemy team immediately disconnected. Everyone starts laughing in chat. And my buddy says "Oh, that worked, thanks". Then another enemy disconnected. The game was 8v5 without ever firing a shot. My buddy demanded that 3 kills be added to his score for that round. I agree. I was wiping tears man, it was the best ever.
