global accounts and regioned servers, yes please.....

I cant think of a better way to handle the whole debacle of who gets to play where and with whom, on what servers and with what ping....
I'm starting this thread to appeal to the enthusiastic masses to show your support for this.
Global accounts would ensure that this fine community keeps itself strong and whole instead of dividing us up into regions based on locality, because of this piranha can outsource (or infact keep inhouse) their login and authentication servers in one place, with suitable backups of course, to maintain a low housekeeping cost which will eventually filter back to us gamers by means of more dev time, more testing and more content. I simply cannot think of a con side of this...
Allowing us to chose where to play i can foresee as being a little more intricate, however it is very much doable with the correct server filters in place. You're a euro and want to game with North American friends? Simply form a group with them and start the match...or you want to join them after a match has started? Have a join friends game command in your friends list. This benefits people that want to play long distances and also helps reduce against troller gamers with horrendous pings that ruin other peoples fun....since you need to have someone in your friends list to join that far away game, your not going to be able to pug that far away and that will keep the puggers local to their area...pings lower...everyone is happy.
I know this is getting long, that wasn't my intention...so on to my reason to post.
I would like everyone who wants global accounts and regioned servers to post underneath...
Show the few in charge (and I mean this with the utmost respect because we have been waiting for this game for an awfully long time) what the masses want because it would be the best solution for both our wants and needs.
There is no need to flame, no need to troll, no need to ask questions or even comment on why other people have shown their 2 cents....
A simple /signed is all that's required and asked of you. Please show your interest and support for what i feel would be the best solution for all concerned....and if you would like to discuss this please start another thread as I don't want this to get derailed.
Respect and Regards,

We need global accounts, because most existing mechwarrior units tend to have players from around the globe...
Being able to choose the location of where you're playing would help alleviate unnecessary lag for people who aren't intentionally trying to play outside their local region.
Good ideas.

If you bothered to read the post then you will know that I wanted neither silly questions, statements or any of that ilk. The truth is we don't know what we are getting, but by showing up to this we are letting them know that it would be a great option that we would prefer to see because it would be beneficial to all...

These things are not decided out of preference. The software and demand for it usually decides this.
The only way I could see a game allowing global accounts is as if each planet is split into multiple maps. A faction requiring majority control to have the planet and enough instances for all players.

I would have thought this topic would get an official answer quickly or is this wrapped up in the beta secrets?

Why? This ISN'T MW4... every battle is a faction battle(at least that is how they have described the game so far). They will have to be on PGI severs to count... It is the only way they can even have a chance of controlling the persistent Universe...

Two games that follow a similar design model to MWO with instanced pvp games is Tribes Ascend and SMNC. Both of them have global accounts and regional servers.
