Idea For Critical Hits

So the current critical hitting system lets you destroy stuff within components that you have equipped at the moment. Why not have it so you can destroy components such as the arm actuators and the gyro etc. This could make it so you lose the ability to move your arms around, or if your gyro is knocked out, you mech will fall over when you run into other mechs (like how it used to be). crits on the cockpit could disable your hud and things like that.

just an idea, could be cool i think, thoughts?

edit: also when you target a mech the pilot should be informed about what parts are damaged so you can accurately assess your opponents weaknesses. I would kind of like the meta of this game to be an information war

Would love this, as critical hits were very much a part of BT and could cripple a mech, slowing it down or making it harder to shoot or extra heat. If the existing critical components that show up in mechlab, like the gyro or actuators, don't do anything why bother even showing them? I could see a limit on how extreme the penalties are, but wiping out the actuators in a leg should make the mech limp a little, and an engine hit should give you a large heat increase. Even if they don't want mechs to die from 3 engine critical hits they could at least make a penalty for it.

I vote yes to pedro, and yes to this idea.

I want to scan mechs and see where they have their ammo so I can shoot it. I want a scan to reveal component locations and weapon hardpoints with mounts. (without having to learn all the info about all the different mechs)
