I know of only 1 person in closed across my many gaming comm's who is in Beta so far. He lives in the UK (So hope for us Europeans yet! ;) .

What I am amazed at is that I haven't seen a single post/reply at all on these forums actually stating they have had an invite. Maybe i've missed the odd reply so forgive me if someone has posted they are in (& good luck to them hope they have a lot of fun while helping report any kinks (Swines) ^_^ )

Does the None Disclosure forbid Beta Testers from admitting they are in ? Or just a self preservation instinct to avoid the masses trying to weedle out any info ? :)

LOL Out-standing ;P

Anyway i know like many im always dissapointed that ididnt get in this time but patients is a vertue.

its my understanding that there are 3500 beta testers so far?

does anybody know if thats accurate and if so then this game is doing realy well for beta being a month or less old!!!!

im still hopeing i get in but will enjoy just the open beta if that is what happens.

GL to All Beta Testers Please do your job well

it seems that the process is truly randome and thats good but dont just play if you get a key Make the game better and find the glitches

Re-read my post and you will find you are not the only one who agrees with your statement. No E3 representation (best in show, for a game that wasn't even displayed to the public, quite a feat) then to deny players with proven track records.

I won that tournament. Brand new computer courtesy of Dell. Congrats Sniper!

Guess what, I won this one too: http://www.mpbt3025.....php?q=node/329

You can see my message under "Sniper." PGI, get folks in who can make an impact for the love of God.

*waves* Hi. I was one of the guys who gave Kelton the info he needed to squash the biggest oops-code in MPBT: EGA, cause we figured out how it worked in MW1 and realized it'd been ported wholesale into MPBT. You know, the ur-MMO of Battletech? I'm also not in the beta.

Quit posing atop your laurels and deal with being randomed into closed beta or not, just like everyone else that wasn't friends & family. If you don't get into closed beta, you can be useful in open beta, just like everyone else. It's clear they want a broad sample of players in there- there's folks that date back to MPBT, experts, middlin' players, new players. And that bias is not going to be part of that selection, regardless of previous "qualifications". Yours, mine, or anyone else's.

Isn't that a Thunderbolt, due to the distictive LRM rack on the shoulder?

Heh. Nope. It's actually from the Dougram anime, but better known to Battletech players as the Unseen version of the Shadow Hawk. The Thunderbolt from that era is a much blockier fellow. Pic related, from the original Mechwarrior RPG:

I won a free small fry at McDonlad's once playing McDonlad's Monopoly. That's about the extent of my winning anything. ;)

It is believed that this is true. If in the Beta, you cannot state that you are.

The First rule about Closed Beta is you do not talk about Closed Beta.
The Second rule about Closed Beta is you do not SING about Closed Beta. ;)

I am always both surprised and disappointed whenever I see one of these announcements. Too optimistic maybe lol.

I am starting to think maybe people are right about only north americans being accepted.

Would be nice to know for sure.

Yes this is true, you may not state you're in the beta to anyone that isn't in the beta.

It's actually an interesting rule since in my many Alpha and Beta tests this hasn't been a rule but I suppose that Piranha doesn't want the masses to try to weed out information on their incomplete Beta version of the game from the testers since most testers are not likely to be as tight lipped while others, like myself, would be. We actually had, and still have even in the CBT, that problem in WoWP Alpha.

Actually, they don't even issue any key at all, they are still in the "friends and family beta" process, they just say "100 beta-keys" here and "500 beta-keys" there to keep us on the edge...It's all a lie, I tell, don't believe them !!!!

What I find interesting is if they want to be that tightly controlled on the Closed Beta. You would think members with more time into the forum, that have given our time and commitment to the game, that wait on the edge of our chairs over and over for a beta key would be more helpful, be easier to lead and tell what you need done. We would also probably give more useful feedback. At least more so than throwing keys at random to anyone that joins the forums, with no way of knowing who or what your getting. Not saying thier isnt room for the random selections, just saying I think that it would be REAL easy to give the those in the forums that are active, and have been here longer than a say two months (Pre-GDC) at least a little preferential treatment. I wouldn't think there are much more than 1000 of us that fall into that window.

I honestly think maybe it is personal, and maybe some of us are being kept hanging from a string because we do drive posts on the forum and with the harsh NDA we would go quiet and the forum would lose some personality and a lot of traffic.

That or I am just getting to the point of complete and utter frustration looking at that d@mn yellow badge at the top of my browser.

I just wish there was some way to edit my beta profile.

I said that I'd be only able to dedicate 2-4 hours a week testing, but I meant like, actual testing, not just repeatedly playing matches. Is there even a functional difference?

Congratulations to those who made it in.
