If I did my math right with weight cap removed the locust can go 200 with a max engine (220) before masc or anything else.
If it can actually hold that weight and do anything else is the big question.

Why Isnt The Commando And Spider Faster Than Other Light Mechs?

Wake up. We dont live in the 70´s. TT is a dice game without a computer. Its in the very past. MWO is a Real time Computer game.
Legolaas, there is a mis communication here. I don't want dice-rolling, but when you click the "Launch" button, that is the definition of dice-rolling. Firing a UAC is also, unfortunately, dice-rolling.

Spiders and Commandos are struggling after the Raven got the 3L.
The Raven and the 3L variant were released well before the Spider was available. The Spider was DoA as it came in after the engine restrictions and Raven were available.

yeah commando and 20 tonners NEED more speed to justify their light wieght. hopefully once the netcode is sorted.
Yep, the engine restrictions were because of the netcode. Anything going more than 160 or so and the netcode started falling apart. You had serious warping, and a mech approaching 200kph would lag out the entire match participants as all the clients would try to play catch-up and get buried in netcode movement updates.
I miss the days of 400XL light fun builds and the ability to "go plaid."

Without at least a grounding in BattleTech lore and TT rules, MWO is just stompy robots. Adherence to the TT rules and general BattleTech lore is what makes this a MechWarrior game and not just another robot game.
If it becomes just another robot game, it will also lose its (generally middle-aged and quite comfortable economy-wise) core audience.
What would you rather stake your livelihood on: Fickle teenage gamers that don't care one iota about the game universe, or middle-aged BattleTech geeks with disposable income that have been faithful to a game universe for almost 30 years?
That said, I personally am more worried about MWO keeping to the spirit of the BattleTech rules than the letter. I want a game that feels like BattleTech, not necessarily one that implements the rules to the umpteenth decimal point.

No, Rules are cool. Iam Playing this game because its called MEch warrior and its Kinda the same with earlier Mech Warrior Video Games.
Mech Warrior based rules are great but TT isnt even Mechwarrior Video Game.Of course the Mech warrior games based on TT but again, playing TT and a Video Game is quite tooo difefrent. You can adopt a Board Game 1:1 into a Video Game.
That was my Hole point. Its a different Game mechanic. Iam not saying that they should screw all the Rules but please dont argue with TT Rules if it comes to balancing stuff which are really needed. SPider Locus and commando need to have an advantage over raven and jenner. I just want the game to be balanced. If the TT rules are in the way of balancing then screw them. I hope you get me right now.
