It would be nice if you could explain about the variants for Quickdraw... it has been producing a lot of confusion with 4H and 4G variant. Answered, thanks.

See, the 4H is loaded out one way, and the 4G is loaded out a different way. I hope that clears things up for you.

TL:DR - jump jets

Can't really complain about reduced prices on MC only stuff, and everyone's going to want to be painting their Quickdraws up.

So gg basically. Also, Vagabond looks really good on them with the right color combo.

You mean this here? http://mwomercs.com/...heavy#quickdraw

Or do you mean its variant information? Which is here. http://mwomercs.com/game/patch-notes

----------------

Far as this sale, it's useful. I've gone and pulled out my wallet. Can't afford to drop my 5th hundred dollars in your precious mech currency, but I threw in another 30. One Firebrand, Quickdraw's 3 sale camos, and some of your finest coffee. God knows there isn't a man alive within the Capellan Confederation that can brew a decent cup of coffee and as a mercenary I get enough in wages to seek it elsewhere, unlike those poor sods.

Oh, and while you're at it, here's some extra cbills. Do me a favor and see about properly installing the Quickdraw 4G's torso lasers after launch, hm? They're facing the wrong way. They should be pointing behind me. How am I going to shoot the battlemechs chasing me when I'm escorting some stingy little <redacted> through a warzone if they're facing forward?

I, for one, feel slightly blind-sided here. I was expecting my favorite mech ever, the Orion, and yet received the Quickdraw. While the Quickdraw is a respectable mech, I refuse to buy one out of protest until my baby, the Orion, is released. As such, the customization sale is useless to me.

You've been under a rock for nearly a month now (when the change was announced)? There is much love for the Orion but face it, all it would spawn is another PPC boat on the battlefield. Quickdraw might be able to rock 4 PPCs but it can't handle the heat necessary to keep them going. Between that and the Victor, it's pretty clear MWO's shifting the meta toward speed and less of slow but heavy firepower. We'll see the Orion, don't worry. But it'll need a lot more work than the Quickdraw does.

You've seen the Quickdraw, right? Reuses some Highlander resources combined with some Atlas-like resources. It's light, fast, and was easy to bring into the field. No need to get funky shaped weapons from various manufacturers. You know the Orion needs special weapon models for the arms, for missile launchers and for various weapons. Needs special models for the side torso weapons, of very unique shapes. Orion's too expensive to bring this far out at the moment. But it'll come out soon enough.

We all have our favorite mechs. Not all of them are available out here on the periphery. Give it time. Sooner or later you'll find some unlucky sort of pilot; a nobleman or some whackjob trying to make a name for himself. He'll be in an Orion. His men will desert him. That'll be your chance. Wait for it to come, and you'll have your Orion.

Myself, I met a man in a hospital who raved on and on that his entire unit was wiped out by vat-grown fascists riding on forest lupines. Wolves, my friend. Sooner or later we'll all meet them. When we do, you can bet a few million cbills that you will find me capturing one to put in my collection. A ForestWolf. Hmph. A peculiar name, but if they're as powerful as what that shellshocked fool rambled on about, I will have one. Mark my words. I will have one.

I'll be saving my MCs for Sarah's 'Mech later this month... however I can't wait to test out the Quickdraw... I need another overweight medium 'Mech to toy with as the Dragon doesn't sit well with me since most of my mediums can be equipped just the same as a DRG...

You'll just be as disappointed, mediums still do better then what another 60ton mech is meant to. Huge hitboxes for torsos and legs mean that speed and jumpjets are irrelevant when you need a Std engine to survive, whereas the mediums have better hitboxes and carry the same weaponry easily. Did we really seriously need a 2nd fast 60ton battlemech? That does nothing to change the meta game because it's legged in 2 alpha strikes and requires an XL engine to get any good speed? Half the builds people can do on it rotate still around PPC's or LRM's, not brawling...

Seems you have really high Alpha, because to leg (one leg of) my QKD-5K you need to do 84 DMG :D) And we are talking about leg which is moving really fast when I am running around 90-100 kph ...
But to be honest - I still have to make my opinion on the QKD mech, now it is just too early to say final state (played only around 6 games yet).

Actually... I played against plenty of Quickdraw's last night (btw Devs, glad to see more non-Assault 'Mechs on the field now *kudos*) and I came across some rather effective builds... played around in the smurfy mechlab and that 'Mech is quite versatile even with an XL engine in it dude LOL! It's all about your style of gameplay and how you pilot... obviously you enjoy piloting overheated assault builds and rely on alphastrikes quite often, to each their own dude... be slow and cumbersome while I run circles around you :D

And running around you will be a jenner with almost as much firepower. Iv been playing and theorycrafting the crap out of the QKD sense it came out and the best way to sum this mech up is "A medium disguised as a highlander". Its overall figure is too thick, even at max range doing 100kph it dosn't take a marksman to hit this thing. Im still trying to get it to grow on me, but its certainly not helping the process along on its own.
