Looking at the changes to small pulse lasers what do we think of them on a JR7-F instead of 6 medium laser’s? On my JR7-F I have a 300XL and 13 heatsinks and here is the comparison of the two.

Weapon Alpha Sustained DPS Cooling
6xML’s 30 3.0 40%
6xSPL’s 20.4 3.34 45%

The small pulse would run a lot cooler letting you get more alphas in but at the cost of range.

Compare to the benefits, the range cost for the SPL is still far too great. It's headed in the right direction, but all the pulses still need their burn time lessened.

They're a viable alternative to MLAS for some lights now. I have a mate who's started running a ninja-spider-D with 3SPL and it's actually surprisingly effective for a troll mech. SPL aren't quite there yet, MLAS are still generally better, but they're viable for certain builds (6SPL Jenner being one of them) due to the slightly higher dps and much cooler running.
