And I agree with everyone of you.
Except the OP, obviously.

I hate Gundam.
Who would build giant fighting robots? (put aside the scifi disbelief)
The Military right? They are the ones with the money.
Would the oversight committee really approve of mechs being brightly coloured, high heeled, tiara sporting, mini skirt wearing mechs then say "let teenagers drive them and oh add some feathered wings!"?
Gawd I hate Gundam.

Hahaha... I'm a Gundam fan and even I can appreciate this view point.
For what it's worth, more recent series have fixed a few of the cliches and had better writing and more believable designs. Some things still annoy me, though. >.<

Though their are a number of battlemechs that would not be to far out of place their, and I do not necessarily mean the old Unseen...
Though strangely enough battletech has mechs that are faster than say the Gundam and even units like the Dom...

I love gundam and all, but the common gundam aesthetic (highly dextrous humanoid types) doesn't really fit the apache/tank on feet aesthetic of mechwarrior.

Is all of MS Igloo like the clip you showed? It reminded me of 8th MS Team with a more militaristic feel and less "preteens in robots" and if that clip is what the series is like I might have to give that series a chance.

kinda sorta. Just MS Igloo 2 which is on the ground and fought by boots. MS Igloo 1 is mostly space and therefore MS are more acrobatic/fighter-jetty.

Nope, because they also used some from Crusher Joe and Fang of the Sun Dougram.
Also, I'd prefer not to have gundam-esque 'mechs.
Gundams are far too slow and crude to be proper BattleMechs.
(One canon story has a BattleMaster do a handstand (out of combat), while other canon 'Mechs are capable of running speeds up to 300km/h (LCT-6M Locust).)

As much as I want to give another 8th MS Team-ish gundam show a shot, those creepy dead doll eyes sort of weird me out. They should have used more classical animation styles for characters and left the cgi for the vehicles. Also, Igloo is a really REALLY silly word to use in the title of anything

Clearly, you have not seen most of gundams core timeline stories. Silliest names for everything, Igloo is at least pronounced as it is written.
