Why is this terribly designed map still in the game?

Here's our chance to raise awareness to PGI that something needs to be done about alpine, let's not lead them to believe it's okay as-is vote yes plz

People like the map. But yeah I think they should remove it and forget it. It is one of the worst maps they have. The other maps are better. Or atleast remake the damn map.

There's nothing to like, it's too huge, the points in conquest generate too fast, the bases cap too fast, the terrain is designed terribly, it's 2-3x too big even for a 12 player map, there's nothing good about it.

Totally agree thats why they should remove it and replace it with another snow map that's smaller.

No, its a good map.

If you get "out-capped" you should better organize. The map is even better with the Hillclimbing fix.

It needs to stay. It's a good map; Requires skill and patience.

Before the movement code changes I would have said yes, but it's worth trying it out with the new limits.

at least you're aware of the problem, now you just have to realize it is a problem

Why? I think its balanced with Brawling and lrm/ppc boats. I think its one of the best maps. You can easily get to each side of the map in one game in an assault unlike Alpine were if you go one way the enemy goes another you might as well cap each other base since you base swapped.

ps the team that spawns closest to the tower will get there first and win unless you backcap given you can't even use the close ridges to counter-snipe

Alpine isn't so much a map as a skybox testing ground.

Diane here is completely correct if the other team gets to the tower first they win. So basically the only way to win is back cap and make the game no fun. If you find that fun then you don't really know Mechwarrior and BattleTech

so many noobs in the steering wheel underhive voting no, I should have realized this. Okay guys let me spoil things so everyone comes to hate this map sooner, the secret now is to spawn on the top right base so you're geographically higher and not spending the entire map going uphill, then you just go left to the tower on top of the mountain and have all PPCs/gauss, you're defended perfectly from brawlers because of hill climbing so you can just snipe everything to death free of worry, the only way the lowerspawning team has a chance is by cutting to the right from the bottom left and trying to backcap before the top team goes back to spawn and wins, to counter this the top team can just go to the middle of the map on the mountain/hill thing right next to the tower hill.

tl;dr
Top team wins bcuz pgi is intentionally imbalancing meta to sell more dragon slayers/heavy metal/misery and hill climbing penalties

Well we do want bigger maps just not this piece of **** Alpine where it has a horrible design. If it was made a bit better people would actually like it.

oh you mean if you get outcapped by rebok wearing inability to aim trollz. Ha! Its not a capping issue you just bust on their parade from sniper hill as long as others close in. Oooo look at me im a spider "bzzzt" dead spider says the hunchy. The map is sparse. It may be a bit more fun with the new movement code but why are we on that planet? What are we there for? Throw more buildings, trees, mining mechs. Heck put a big Eggship smack in the middle. Just make it intersteing.

Thank you. The Map is so bland and horrible. It doesn't have any cover at all it's all open. It looks more like an incomplete map than anything.
