Well, a lot of the crap spewing comes from the seperation of the die hard TT players and the FPS tryhards. Then you toss in the people that just argue for the sake of arguing on top of the always present "I'm right and you're wrong because I said so" and the "I'm winning because I'm abusing cheese" types and even the most basic of conversations turns into garbage.

Just look at the varying posts about the state of PPCs, the high end ACs, and missiles. Heck, we had like 10 threads yesterday about PGI normalizing pulse lasers and everyone was ready to go on a witch hunt because the Large Pulse got a heat nerf. Yet, the underlying theme from all of them was that 99% of the people arguing about how bad a change it was never even used the damned thing. It really makes me feel less intelligent reading this forum sometimes and that doesn't even bring into question the terrible spelling and basic grammar skills seen by many posters.

Onlashoc and the OP have it right. The forums have become disgusting... I hardly go anymore, but I couldn't help but to comment on the OP's experience, glad you're having a good time!! Don't listen to the negative garbage that is on the forums as long as you are having a blast :D

This behavior has been all that worked in the past. It started with Open-Beta nonsense (not sure you remember, but they wanted to go Open Beta extremely early.) The testers had to throw a tantrum, and they gave in and pushed it back. It turned out the community was right, as the "Open Beta" patch introduced a set of crushing bugs that would have made for a very poor showing.

So fast forward through LRMageddon, Coolantgate, idiotic ECM implementation; we've learned that the only way to get the logical changes made is to act illogicaly and throw a big visible fit.

And nobody wants miracles. The best suggestions are simple and easily implemented. (MGs/LBX/Flamers could be fixed with some number changes. If it takes more than 15 minutes to change the damage values on any of these somebody is doing something very wrong.)

I'm not saying that the community shouldn't continue to give good suggestions, what I'm saying is the community needs to stop throwing a fit over everything. It just keeps building on itself. A lot of the community hated the poptarts, and now that the patch changed jump jets everyone who was poptarting throws a tantrum. Everyone talks like balancing a game is a simple task, but I don't think the majority of the community really understands the work that goes into these changes. They can't just change some numbers and spit out the patch, since even when they put a lot of work into testing balance issues everyone still complains about the patch. I honestly don't think this game will ever be "balanced", since the community throws a fit over every change. I think people need to step back, realize it's a game, stop expecting perfection, and just start enjoying it. It's not perfect, it probably never will be, but I've had fun with it ever since I first started.

A-friggin-men!

Just let them develop the damn game they want, and decide if you'll play it or not when they decide to call it "Done".
