Do you really think they're anywhere near on track for a September release...?!

What makes you think they will bother to be ready for release? They will release this when IGP says so, not when it's ready.

I'm going to wait and see what the July patch holds, since they've promised it's going to be very large. After that I will make a decision on how much time is going to get devoted to MWO over the next year.

Yep, pretty much exactly this. They say the next two patches should be huge; if they're more of the same or not much better, then I know their definition of huge is underwhelming and the game will never be what we all know it has the potential to be. But if the next two patches bring any two of: 12v12, UI2.0, CW phase 1, and/or a new gametype, then I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

Seem to me like there shutting it all down in July.

This is based on this weeks patch notes hinting as to a big surprise.

The fact that the site has not been updated in a while. Also if you look at the builds for the Quickdraw there pretty bad with no alterations other than a few jump jets graphic wise they all look the same.

So it seems to me like this projects over but hey we all made them a good 5 million before they called it quits.

I don't see them making any September deadlines their still having issues with matchmaking, Weapon Balance, splitting us into factions, Timeline issues after all its 3050, No community warfare yet, also they don't have enough maps yet. Looks like there raising prices on mechs they seem to be costing more mech credits, customization is a nightmare since you have to pay to customize.

Their scam is catching up to them we made them a lot of money, and they havn't delivered their not even marketing the game anymore online. Its great that they were number 19 in PC gamer but that just means there's 18 more games that I should look at investing in before this one.

All these are tell tail signs that death is near. Plus were not getting any updates.

With a planned release (i.e shedding the eternal beta tag) for the end of summer, I think it would be wise to discuss the state of the game now vs. what PGI plans to have for its September release.

The patches since this announcement have been a tad underwhelming, with no great progress made.

This is the last June patch and all we got is an essentially DOA mech and another ridiculous thing to decorate our cockpits with.

So, six patches. Six patches to add the basics of CW new maps, new mechs, weapon balance changes, 12v12, 3PV(ohgod) and the list continues. If they're anywhere near serious about launching in late September, all of the remaining patches have to be twice the size of this one, with actual, meaningful additions to the game. So my question is, can PGI pull it off? How do you think this game will look come Sept. 21st?

In my own opinion, if any patch is as small or underwhelming as this one for here on in, we have a lot of broken hearts incoming. And fast.

You're assuming their release date is set in stone. I'm betting it is not as they will need to have CW up and running prior to release to have any chance of making the game have the kind of appeal at launch that it will need for long term viability, and that seems unlikely to happen by the end of the summer.

Glad I'm about to buy a Death's Knell after I finish dinner. (First hero mech woohoo look @ me, i even troll in game now)

I just don't get all the entitlement/vitriol, not even looking at anyone in particular in the slightest, just saying, the air is thick with the stanky funk of angry sweaty nerds at the moment. It's troublesome.

Lets look at the facts (go check how many times I make posts that contain phrases like 'look at the facts' so you know I'm being kinda serious here) -

CW incoming
UI 2.0 incoming
Clan stuff incoming

What the **** is the problem? Last year you couldn't even play this ******** game at some points it was so broken. At least we're able to play it right now. I'm guessing that some of you actually got to play it, and eventually realized it's not the game for you. Oh no, that happens all the time. When was last time you went and saw a horrible movie. Did you go home and tweet the director about how much it sucked or demand a better effort from the actors in the sequal? Whatever. Have ******* fun and if not, go find something better to do with your time and come back later. The game has appeal it has promise and we all are playing a beta, have some faith and patience, if not, **** off. Real talk. Oh and if any of you wanna disagree I will bury you in game ****.

C'mon Soy I know you are better than the sweaty nerd defense.

Based on most of my chats with people, most of us are 30 to 40 somethings with families who do this in our very casual spare time.

seen this happen too many times not really surprised anymore. Won't it be funny when at the beginning of September when they decide to push back the release of the game. Of course that assumes that they will inform anyone about it ahead of time instead of just missing the deadline and hoping no one notices. Then deleting all the negetive feed back about it

True on the 30-40 somethings, but shutting down in July as the poster above us clamed? That's laughable. I've played games that have failed and this one has a long ways to go before we are there. I'm betting it's still up and running in July of 2015.

Again, why would you think they will push the release back? They are just going to release whatever they have then and tell us F2Ps are always in development. You honestly think they will wait until the game is ready? This is the future of online gaming. F2P allows half assed releases and it's where the industry is heading.

Agreed.

Anyone else play Hellgate: London back when that was around?

Honestly this reminds me way too much of that.

And they did some terrible things to the player base with that game.

Yeah but it's gone from 5 days a week to 2-3. And 2 of those days are like 4 games.

And I spent money in December, and haven't since.

Just playing isn't enough for F2P. They need us all spending money.

That's why they are doing the 3PV gamble, the money from us isn't flowing as freely as they'd like so they are throwing the ultimate hail mary to try and grow the player base.

Hellgate they pushed new content at breakneck speed while not paying any attention to balancing and bugs.
PGI is not ignoring balance, they're just slow at implementing fixes so far. They've quashed most bugs, and new bugs that get added tend to go away within a month.
As to new content, they're pushing it nowehere near as fast as Hellagte was near the end.

I'm talking about the stupid decision making, poor judgement, and miserable communication.

PGI is all about those things.

Hence the consumables debacle, the 3PV 180 or even the "WE HAVE A BIG SURPRISE TOMORROW" "OOPS POSTPONED IT" "OH YEAH IT WAS JUST A PICTURE OF A MAP YOU'VE ALREADY SEEN A PICTURE OF".

Considering the sloppy patch they put together this time (QKD missing JJ animation, poor QKD variant arrangement when buying it, lag happening to be worse than last patch), they need to be reasonable and not play the hype machine until they deliver.

They suck @ the art of proper communication. They really need a better PR department or take some PR classes. Even US presidential elections are better at this than PGI and I usually hate the spam that those things generate.

I had a match last night where movement was freed up while Betty was still doing her start up sequence. It was weird as. And yes, I have noticed a bit of a framerate problem. My ping is still the same as it was so it's got to be something else done by the patch.
