I'm willing to admit it .

I was (and still am) really looking forward to the Orion, but it is fun as hell to run around in a GIANT SUPER JENNER, and the other variants look like they'll be lots of fun (until that horrific SSRM nerf hits . Please re-buff SRMs before the SSRM nerf, I'm begging you!)

Tall as an Assault Mech. No thanks, I'll pass on Quickdraw Meta.

Don't get caught alone in the Quickdraw, and you will have a blast.

Their size is horrendous... SRM's are completely lacking, their hitboxes are pretty large with inadequate armour coverage for the 'continuing' alpha strike meta. Their great in strung out battles across a long front and I've strung some victories and delaying actions in groups of them. But their still all LRM totting with lasers because really they don't have the weight to keep PPC's reasonably cool, SMR's are still nerfed into the ground, and the hitbox of the legs and torsos means in a brawl you'll be legged or blown out.

Their playable, but nowhere near what they are meant to bring... maybe 12v12 in faster lances with a Victor brawler. I just don't see how this mech doesn't add to the meta of LRM or PPC hoarding, and really the Orion would've been a better option for those looking forward to a unique heavy...

I'm liking it. I usually die to being legged (and I run full armor on my mechs). Maybe jump a bit less and take a few more torso hits...

The thing is, when Bryan said "current meta" people interpreted that to mean alpha striking/ppc+ballistics/etc.

I'm pretty damn sure Bryan meant how everyone and their dogs have been pushing higher and higher tonnage mechs - the orion would have just worsened that pretty dramatically.

It's like overnight battles shifted dramatically to lighter overall tonnages. Lots of QKD's of course, but their presence opens the doors for Mediums and such to have a better role.

Battles are much more dynamic and interesting instead of two walls of assaults, cataphracts and jagers firing at each other.

I hate it. Hate it, hate it, hate it. If it were maybe 20% smaller, I could maybe learn to love it, but it's such a massive target that any speed advantage it may have is negated by the colossal profile.

But hey, if for one weekend the overall tonnage of matches drops, while people use it due to its novelty, I'm happy. I just wish I could learn to love it.

Even with its "large" size, the Quickdraw has become the perfect Heavy flanker for me. I keep the standard engine and medium lasers/streaks/srm4s on all of them- so its a close range jumping brawler. Movement is paramount to the Quickdraw, and jumping in a brawl usually messes with my opponents' aim.

Your build has 0.5 unused tons that should go into leg armor.

Yep. I was just focused on the weapon loadout when I made that in 5 secs.

You know I don't think the QD is as large as people are making it out. Just a few matches ago the match lanched with a QD and Treb standing side by side. The QD was just a tad bit wider viewing them side by side from the back. I also could see a Cataphract and it seems almost exactly the same size as the QD,

I think the height thing is based on the preception from the cockpit which skews things to look much different than they are.

I'm loving all the Quickdraws running around out there... they're so... crunchable. :D

I'll have to see what I can do with it once I actually DRIVE one. Maybe after I buy another seismic module.

Quickdraw will change nothing in 8 mans.

Wow it may see some use in pugs, but so do spiders.

If you line them up in a row, QD is the 3rd tallest mech in the game and too wide as well.

Currently SRMs are superior to LRMs so the logic of bringing LRMs is flawed.

Unless they just can't hit with SRMs.

Energy Dragon with JJ's.

Easily my least favorite mech since the spider, but at least the spider is good for the lolz.

It is tall and wide like an assault mech, I would say Victor should have this size, not the 60 ton mech, I mean come on: cataphract looks small near it and he is 10 tons heavier. Once I've finished leveling it he goes to the end of the hangar. I thing I have a free spot near the dragon.

Tuesday night, friends and I played 3x Quickdraw 4H and me in my Dragon Flame. All with XL 350 or 360 (I was one of the 360) and we basically either swarmed people who ran alone or went to cap and then jumped off and killed anyone who came back. Out of the 7 or so games, we only base camped once. We got called out on Tourmaline and wound up killing the entire team because they all staggered back at various speeds while our teammates all hammered them from the back as we got them on the front.

Yes, they are fun if you play in a pack all running the same speed like that.
