its way too wide

seems like proportions are rarely retained from the concept art

Was gonna go all out on the Victor but PGI have shot themselves in the foot (when it comes to me). I'm getting my Battlemaster!

Oh and looking at that 3d pic, I'd die to it....

...only cos I'd be staring, waiting for it to roll his arms hnder and transform into a truck.

Yeah, that conept art looks awesome. That 3d model looks terrible. I'll wait to see it in action in case its just a bad angle, but this'll be the first real modelling dissappointment for me. If it looks as bad as I think, I'll give the whole chassis a pass. More cbills to save for Orions and Phoenix mechs.

Is it October yet?

But what if you don't like the 3D model of the Battlemaster? All we'll have to go on is the Concept Art.

It matters not... it's still a Battlemaster! I'm fully expecting it to be MWOified so blocky, thunder thighs but it doesn't matter. Still a Battlemaster, just PGI's version of it.

Looks like crap to me. To bulky and boxy. Has the attention to detail on the look of the mech been going down hill or is it just me?

oddly enough the victor didn't get thunder thighs

they definately don't readjust models like they used to. like they did for the catapult.

The detail is there. If you look at the mechs ingame they do look rather good and you can see rivets and small machine detail on them.

However its obvious they're just rehashing 3d models with small cosmetic changes, nothing new or revolutionary and different in structure as like the original four mechs.
But that's ok and expected and efficient coding. To code everything from scratch for every single new mech would be a total waste of precious resources.

So long as the cosmetic changes are visible and identifiable in game, which they are, I've got no problem with it.

Besides all the humanoid mechs sorta look the same. Only so many times you can draw a chest, arms, legs.

Jesus Christ, Alex Iglesias must be slam his head against the wall when he sees what the modelers do to his artwork. That thing looks awful compared to the amazing concept art.

Yet another generic Treubchet/Highlander/Quickdraw.

i second that.

but hey, maybe it'll look passable when animated/in game

totally thought the quickdraw was going to come out crap, but it didn't look as terrible as i thought in game. (though way too big)

PGI ***** up mech with skinny concept art.

You're expecting them to get the Battlemaster right?

Read the next reply.

Besides the bulky look grew on me. Particularly after the Treb launch where it became apparent to me that skinny mechs in game look puny.

Meh, the concept is cool, the final mechs in the screens look tremendously bad, then when you get them in game usually there's a mid-way between the two feelings.

Looks like fairly fattier than the concept, but yet it's interesting. I wonder what the scale is, since the QD is practically as big as an Assault, this one will probably be bigger than the Atlas with the current "scaling" factor they did to the newer mechs.

We'll see.. what bothers me more is that this thing has
Ballistic->RA (1 or 2x, that's a GR anyway)
Energy->RT (2x mediums looks like), LA (1x PPC)
Missile->LT (1x only, supposedly so a SRM4)

While all vanilla Victors have the RT that should be completely empty. Looks quite effective in terms of loadout, especially since a 3PPC + GR could be achieved, while on the other victors you should be limited to 2xPPCs (if there are variants with 2/3 energy hardpoints in the LA).

The used angle is poor chosen imho., I initially thought it was a Quickdraw hero mech...,

We'll see how it looks ingame,, but i think the used paint scheme doesn't do him justice. The dark colors are covering/hiding his details.
Also the paint scheme is not really creative, just another dull black and red camo, just like (Fang / Flame / Pretty Baby / Firebrand)

I see a poptarter on the horizon. But I also see a mech I could re-purpose with dakka and large pulses. The fence I'm on is really starting to ride up my crack and give me a wedgie here.

I kinda like this look, but then I have a liking to most black and red, blue or gold styles so I'm kinda biased here. Black base with any of those three colours as trim pleases me.

Looking at the pic.

Looks like 2 ballistic in the right arm (with the possibility of a 3rd mount above the barrel shown). 2 in the RT, 1 Missile in the LT, and at least 2 energy in the LA.

My guess on stock equipment:

1 Gauss, 2 AC/2s, 1 PPC, 1 SRM-6.
