I have no idea how people score so damn high: get ALL of the kills? In case you haven't noticed, Koreanese is DOMINATING the Heavy and Medium brackets of the current tournament.

In my Jager-S (2 Gauss, 4ML) I can get hits with all of my gauss ammo and alpha people with lasers the entire rest of the match, and still only get 650 damage and 4 kills.

So my questions is what is he running that can do so much better in Heavy?

And what is he running in Medium for that matter?
edit: For medium he mentioned an 8 ML Hunchback.
edit 2: Koreanese dropped the following video about builds:

Seems like the winning Heavy mech is a Cataphract 3d.

High pin point alpha damage builds are oftentimes not the best for racking high damage scores. You kill stuff too cleanly and efficiently. Want high scores, pack a metric shitton of SRMS and have at it.
The current Meta penalizes you for clean and efficient kills. I often run a dual AC20 Jager and pop heads and rear torsos in 1-2 volleys. But I only am scoring 40-100 damage for that kill.

Also it helps that Koreanese is damn good, and one of the ones I know doesn't cheat.

I've been taken down by him few times, and a few I got the drop on him and made short work of him. He's technically a really good player, but to be on top of the leaderboards, you also have to think a little to.

9 MLas HBK-4p for Medium
Standard Poptart 3D for Heavy

Standard builds, no tricks, no cheating/gaming of the system. What's the secret? He is one of the best players in the game right now, not just in PUGs but also competitively. Source: We are in the same clan, DV8.

He loves to head-shot too. Never seen someone get such consistent head-shotting. He does seem to modulate his rate of fire on targets to get the kill shot though... which I understand and don't really mind.

There is a balance to be struck. One cannot just sit and wait for kill shots, because one will not deal enough damage. In order to get where Koreanese is, you have to average about 1000 damage, 4 kills and 4 assists over the course of 5 games. You might even have to have a couple 1100+ damage games with 5 kills.

Just having 5 kills and say, 300 damage won't even get you into the top 10.

I haven't broken 900 damage on any of my games today, and the most kills I've gotten is 6... My last game was 6 kills, 2 assists, 833 damage. I lived and team won. That comes out as 235 points for 1 game.

Honestly averaging 210 pts per game will give you a solid score every day. That comes out as 750 damage, 4 kills, 4 assists, living and wining.

Okay, I'm glad you are doing well, but I wasn't talking about how to have a solid score every day. I clearly and specifically said that I was talking about what it takes "to get where Koreanese is." And, as I said, to get where Koreanese is in Heavy bracket, you need to be getting about 1200 points a day (240 per match), which is, as I said, 4 kills, 4 assists, and over 1000 damage, with a couple games even more spectacular.

Some people have been caught exploiting sync drops and disconnected mechs for high damage and kills. Koreanese is not one of them.

I was looking at medium scores there. Medium is what I run most of the time, even though I'm crap at them, it seems...
