So, the FOTM builds and obvious speed-freak stuff is already kinda boring to me. So I decided to have fun, when I realized I could largely recreate the loadout of my favorite mech of yore, the WHM-6R Warhammer.

QKD-6R Hoppin' 'Hammer

The Armor is pretty close to what a WHM carried, as they were lightly armored for their mass, and it does run a tad hot. The JJs were added for a skosh of added CQB mobility and terrain hopping (used them earlier to torment a Stalker by constantly jumping over and around him, spreading his attacks). I tend to link the Mediums, while putting the Smalls and SRMs on the same trigger (since SRM spread nerfs their true range anyhow), and then alternate the PPCs between linked and chainfire on the main trigger as heat demands.

Not gonna light up 8 mans, or become FotM, so I am sure the ForumWarriors will universally proclaim it's worthlessness (WHAT?!?!? YOU AREN'T ALPHA-BOATING!?!?!?!?!?! NOOBtm
WARRIOR!!!), but I'm having fun. And that is the only reason I log on.

So think outside the box, post and build some fun builds, then go PUG your way to glory!

I wish I could just have a Warhammer. Interesting build though.

Oh well, Warhammer-IIC perhaps.

So true, but we know it ain't gonna happen.

Also, for those who prefer the survivability of a Standard Engine over the maneuverability of JJs,

On the first build, you could swap to a 300 XL, add endo steel, and up-armor the legs.

yes you can.

Since I don't currently own one though, I can't run it. Hence I don't post it. But it is definitely doable. (and eventually upgradable since I want a 300XL for my Jenner anyhow)

I was an armorless scarecrow missing one arm by the end, but it's the most fun I have had with this chassis, and probably the most fun match, in a long time. (literally 2 or 3 shots difference from the other team winning, as by the end we were ALL stick figures. FUN!)

And almost have enough to repurchase that 300XL (that I apparently sold)

Everyone should have a 300xl sitting around, it's one of the most used engines I own.

I run Jagers and K2s mostly. 260 and 280XLs work better for my builds in those. Also, exactly how it is in my Smurfylab..... for when I get my 300XL again.

Probably was still in my CN9-A when I sold it off in a bout of boredom.

I honestly don't see anything wrong with that build at all and it looks like it could be super effective. I might even try it on my 5k myself.

I am in the same boat. Most my mech run 280 XLs though I did finally spring for a 300XL last night.

Not sure if you noticed, but you're still half a ton under weight, you can up-armor the legs.

I did. Just too lazy to update it in the lab. Legs run 55 each. And seem to need it, according to the Forums, though I have not been legged or cockpitted near as much as I expected to be by the forum QQing. (20 some deaths, 2 times by legging, once by cockpit...... doesn't seem terribly skewed to me. Lots by cored center torso thx to 4-6 PPC boats tho)
