[RedDog74]

Brand new install of Windows 8 64-bit. I've installed .Net, DirectX, and visual C++. I've tried "Microsoft FixIt"...

When I try to install it in the default or anywhere else, within a few seconds it errors. It looks like it fails when it is either looking for or updating the Visual C++.

Nope... it's not a incorrect temp directory. My BIOS and Windows clock are identical. I leave for a 5 day LAN party and would love to play this with my friends... PLEASE HELP!

The the MWO installer gets everything but the C++. PGI is aware of installation failing and working on it, until then it needs to be installed manually. This is correct the issue you are having.

There are a few threads out there, slowly updating with them with pertinent information.

If you check the Parana Installer certificate it expired last month on the 18th. Is there an updated Win8 installer floating around? You can find this info during install. When User Account Control pop's up hit additional information, then click the link to certificate.

Like I said I have tried that already when I run the install in that link it doesn't do an installation because It says " A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been detected on the machine." I also tried the direct x9c and the microsoft.net installs. The direct x doesn't install because I have a newer or equivilant version, and the .net offers uninstal or repair so I run the repair. The microsoft fixit thing also finds no issues. None of it helps.

I just started getting this error today after my game crashed last night, apparently somehow MWO corrupted my .NET Framework because I was unable to open AMD VISION Engine Control center which also runs off the .Net.

So long story short just try changing your system clock to may 6th then re-installing...worked for me.

Ok Senet that actaully worked I changed my clock or may 6th and it installed fine. Thanks so much for the help, no idea why that works but I'm glad it's fixed.

Someone in another thread mentioned that a installation certificate was out of date/expired.

The the MWO installer gets everything but the C++. PGI is aware of installation failing and working on it, until then it needs to be installed manually. This is correct the issue you are having.

There are a few threads out there, slowly updating with them with pertinent information.

This fixed me thanks.

I had already installed the x64 C++ since I am on x64 Win 7. That didn't fix it. This link is the x86 C++ installer and I was able to install after running this one.

This worked for me as well; changed the date to April 28th and install proceeded as normal. Thanks for the tip!

I had the same problem as reported here, could not install or patch game untill I set my system clock back to April 2013. Since I rolled my clock back the patch is going in fine.

Great, another game tripped up by Microsoft and their garbage certificale program..

I noticed the certificate being out of date and knew exactly what the problem was. nice to see some have found a viable workaround for it until it can be resolved.

I am using the repair tool to install the game and I will post back if it works this way or not. If not I will just change the date.. Since it sees it is missing everything for the most part it appears to be downloading the entire game pretty much like how the updater does.
