I have a friend with a 560 ti that running this game (card at 99%) gets temps of like 84C.. I told them to turn the computer so the card can pull air from the room instead of it being faced towards a wall because they don't have side doors on their case..
i'm not familiar with Nvidia so I don't know what temps should be for their cards.. anyone know when its just to hot?? my guess would be anything around 90C??? I don't like my card being up above 80..

84 is just fine. The general rule of thumb for all modern GPUs is <90C is okay, maybe not ideal, but at least okay :P

Also, taking the side panel off the case can harm cooling, rather than help it, so just be aware. Cases ventilate by having a pressure differential between the front/bottom and rear/back, so that all of the air around the components is cycled out and replaced by new air. When you remove the side panels, you eliminate that pressure differential, and just end up with a bunch of stagnant air.

apparantly the side panels were "lost at some point" which is kinda hard to do i'd think but i'm not there so I wouldn't be able to tell.. my computer pulls from the front and back and pushes out the side (H80 on the back pulling air in through the radiator, 120 pulling from the front over the drives (2 HDD and 1 SSD) and 2 120s push air out the side pulling all the air from the GPU out aswell

The one thing I see missing is the lack of discussion concerning fans and heatsinks. Are the heatsinks clear of any/all dust build up? Are the fans running normally? Is a program being utilized to not only monitor fan speeds but to also have some sort of control over them? A few users have indicated that the card fans were not really ramp up in RPM but by using MSI Afterburner or such, they were able to get the temps down.

I run a GTX 560 too. My temps during gameplay are never over 65°Celcius.

I told them about MSI afterburner and now MSI is controlling the fan speed after the computer was turned so the card faces towards the open room.. that helped about 5C so.. the only other thing I could suggest to them is get a case that actually pulls the air from the card and pushes it out... they kept having video glitches every once in a while and I thought temps might've been a problem... thats how I got to this..

To be honest, your card isn't getting hot enough to cause any kind of serious glitches. I'd get GPUz, see if you can monitor the 12v PSU rail and VDDC voltage, and see if they fluctuate or get low. It could be a PSU problem.

It should pull air from inside the case and push it outside from the back back panel where the video connector is.

84 is hot, but it's not going to kill it. The old Voodoo 3's were spec up to 143C (but they were also made of lead)

Just make sure there is air flow going into the case from below, may add an extra fan somewhere. Otherwise; download MSI Afterburner and set a custom fan speed. That should cool it down rather quickly.
