seems a bit brawler bias to be honest if you fight within a grid...

The arena zones range from 500m1200m x 500m-1200m. Some are open terrain, others are very tight to maneuver in with partial-full cover. You are correct though in assuming Sniper and LRM builds are not the focus of these duels. We get enough enough of that in-game

So about that European Arena? Or you could just move this back 2 or 3 hours. That would probably work for most people.

I watched some of the vids and it looks great! I would love to participate but I know I would die instantly.

Good News,
We now have 3 hosts that have volunteered for an EU Arena on Saturdays. We are working on a time and should have it locked down by monday the9th evening. The first MWO:Arena EU league will tentatively be held on Sat the 13th, time tba. (current proposals are is 8pm BST,10am BST or 2pmBST)
DJ_Stymie, Panzer Magier and Cauldborn have volunteered to Host. Albeleo, Meatpuppet and Myself will also be there to organize and assist for the first couple of weeks.

I am trying to decide if we would like these Leagues to have separate Rankings?
Any thoughts?

We just started tracking an MWO:Arena ELO. This allows the hosts to match up pilots more closely and was the final step required for us to hold the upcoming MWO:Arena bracketed tournament. 5 MWO:Arena fights are required to pre-qualify for the tournament.

MWO Arena Prize Structure

MWO Arena will be issuing Gladiator Tags. These are real Mil Spec Dog Tags not virtual! See sample below...

To Earn your Tags:
Place 1st, 2nd or 3rd in Any Division for three consecutive weeks. Competitors (gladiators with 2 weeks of consecutive placing) will be announced at the beginning of each Arena Event.
Tags will be shipped once per month (the first week of the month).

It's in hiatus right now. Amnesia is working on a revamp with a UI, stats interface, etc..
