Target Lock Should Drop Upon Destruction

This is particularly confusing in the heat of battle when it's difficult to tell if an explosion was a component destruction or a kill. Please change this back the way it was: lock is lost immediately upon death of the targeted .mech... or at least much sooner.

What I'd prefer is if they left the targeting box for a few seconds, but turned its outline grey once the target was destroyed, so you could both easily tell if a target was dead(and not waste ammo on it...) and also see what caused the death.

So stop crying noobs. I understand it creates inconvinience for you, if your targetting computer doesn't tell you when a target is destroyed, the instance it happens. Awww...poor you. Eat a cookie.
PS. Why is it that most poll creators here only give us the choice of YES/NO. There will always be people who want to vote WHATEVER/I DON'T CARE/ABSTENTION.
But since most poll creators are just attention seekers with a low mind capacity, they can only think in yes/no black/white terms.

I mean, how can something that requires Line Of Sight to lock on stay locked on when you are moving and out of LOS? It makes no sense and just gives LRMers a free extra shot.
LRMers already get the benefit of guided munitions and using other people's LOS and TAG and NARC. Let them work a little for their remote controlled kills.

If you had bothered to actually look into the matter you will notice the game does not show the CT blinking off until the mech actually falls to the ground... aka 2 or 3 seconds after it died.
In combat you won't really see the enemy mech toppling over unless you're in his face. Past 300m its rather difficult to see an engine explosion vs a ballistic/ppc/missile hit on it. The mech then staggers a bit while standing up (looks exactly like if it was walking at slow speed or backwards) and finally tilts over and falls. By then its 2 seconds after it dies and people have expended ammo on it.
The change to this system was not asked for nor needed.

Apparently you think I'm dumb or something. I already know what you tried explain there. It takes a second to update the damage information on your cockpit computer. That adds to realism aswell, well done PGI. I like it.

Yeah. Just because YOU didn't ask for it. Guess what. There's more than your opinion on this planet, duh! I wanted this, I got this and I'm happy now. Again, well done, PGI...thanks.

I guess "I didn't even notice it changed." was too subtle for you?
