If I'm reading the announcement right, we won't GET the mechs until October? Well after planned launch and planned introduction of Clans. So some new fangled bits on these mechs isn't completely out of timeline. Or did the Shadow Hawk and Battlemaster silhouettes just scramble my brains?

You forgot that sarna puts the main TRO variant in the uellow box under the pic on the right side of the page. The Clan upgrades also have (C) in their designation, take another look :-).

I said the same exact thing. Go figure. Arrggh! Fml.
At least we all know that they can still make money from disgruntled founders and Battletech fans, and they don't need to deliver game balance quality. We'll spend 80 $ on our chance to drive an "Unseen" mech, eve though we all like to hyperbole the game won't even survive 6 months into release.
I feel dirty now.
Unless many of us end up not buying.

Yeah, things are finally coming together for MechWarrior: Online to go Online. I spent the last year training and building my Army of leveled-up Mechs, and now I am getting ready to unleash them.

I suspect they're just going to make them like the Founder's mechs with regards to regular variants (that way people who purchase the full package will have all 3 of the variants of the chassises).
I mean look at this stuff:
The LCV-1V looks like just the base Locust...
The SHD-2H is just the base Shadow hawk according to Sarna, isn't it? I seriously doubt they're giving us this:
SHD-2H Shadow Hawk Sandy - Used by Alexander "Sandy" Romanov, a known associate of the Bounty Hunter, this Shadow Hawk is equipped with double heat sinks, a jump range of 150 meters, and a TAG unit. The weapons have been removed and replaced with a single Heavy PPC and Light PPC. BV (2.0) = 1,517[25]
TDR-5S (C) - A Clan technology retrofit of the original TDR-5S Thunderbolt, the Thunderbolt C replaces only the original weaponry - all structural components are unaltered. The standard weapon systems have been replaced with a Clan Large Pulse Laser, a single torso-mounted ER Large Laser, and arm mounted ER Medium Laser and two ER Small Lasers.[11] BV (2.0) = 1,593[12]
BLR-1G BattleMaster Red Corsair - The personal 'Mech of the mysterious Red Corsair started life as a Royal BLR-1G model, but was refitted with a Clan-tech weaponry and structural components. A single ER PPC was located in each arm, with a Large Pulse Laser installed in the center torso, and all six the Medium Lasers were upgraded to Medium Pulse Lasers. Twenty-one double heat sinks managed the heat generated by these weapons. To command her force, the Red Corsair's BattleMaster mounted a Command Console in the head. Sixteen tons of standard armor protected an Endo Steel skeleton and an XL Engine. BV (2.0) = 2,472[42]
... Yeah it seems really unlikely.

The locust .. not worth it. No jumpjets and weak weaponry. I'll stay with my spider. 30% boost? Don't care about that.
As with all hero mechs and champion mechs, the regular mechs will be as good and without the nonsense of spending an idiotic amount of money now to be given the item months later on the vapid promise/premise that the game will be balanced or finished by then.
