This was supposed to be the semester I buckle down and focus on studies.
And you had to go and do this.
About to enter my last semester in Aerospace engineering, accompanied by job hunting and moving location.
I'm so screwed. PGI can you give me an interview since your game is single-handedly ruining my prospects for employment elsewhere?

I think this is a completely fair argument. PGI really does need to start showing some steady progress towards the big ticket items this game has been promising for over a year now.
That said, I have only spent $60 on the original Founders Program, and buying the $80 Project Phoenix package will bring the total up to $140. It's a lot of money for a game I've only played for about 1 year. However, I still have faith in this game and more to the point, I have spent a LOT of hours on it. I've paid $60 for other games I might only play for ~20 or 30 hours. If I estimate the time I've spent playing MWO since I got into the beta back in July, it has to be somewhere around 150 - 200+ hours of gaming. I'm not done playing this game yet, so I'm willing to pay PGI a few more bucks to have a good time.

I'm disappointed with you Mustrum. A spreadsheet warrior should know better :-)
Damn. One careless comment, and there goes my reputation.

That said, I guess that we aren't returning to a 2mech/month format any time soon, and "launch" is October 15th. Still undecided if I'll buy in to this.
I agree, being a Legendary Founder, along with all my current hero mechs they all now seem useless to me if they are NOT retrofitted with this Loyalty bonus...
What gives PGI?

Mech Assault was fun for what it was; A fast-paced shooter with some very interesting gameplay elements that just happened to be themed in the Battletech universe. If you wanted a sim, then no, MechAssault is not going to be for you.
Personally, there hasn't been a Battletech-related video game that I haven't enjoyed, even Mechwarrior on the SNES was enjoyable for me and it has almost NOTHING to do with Battletech. I mean, wtf are those mechs in that game anyways?

I hope they can but i have seen too many times since Beta, balance has been thrown completly out of whack by poor testing/implementation.

First they get the whole thing going with the help of the founders and now they screw the whole thing over.
Over the past months progress has been a total joke. PGI has done shoot-nuthin to make this game significantly better and the addition of new content to spice things up has been a sad trickle. But don't worry, if you are a founder you can become a founder again now. And if you are no founder yet, you get a second chance. In exchange you get... Well, not much really. Sure, some math wizards will try to convince you otherwise. Wow. Mechbays worth X and Hero Mechs worth Y, plus more mechs worths Z and premium time worth... Oh, wait. There is an error in that calculation. It uses the word "worth". See, a Hero Mech is NOT actually worth what PGI charges for it. In fact the current prizing of the in-game items is simply vulgar and completely perverted and on top of that things are increasingly including pay2win items, like superior coolant shots and more.
This game is not free2play. It is increasingly divided into two groups of players. Those who pay absurd amounts of money and those who provide the cannon fodder for them. Sure, for some of us these sums do not cut a hole into our wallets. That is not the point in evaluating prizing, though. If a tomato would cost 25$ we could all still afford to eat one every once in a while. But we would not be making any tomato salad, unless we were rich. This is what the gaming industry is doing more and more these days, blowing up the cost of one game so that it costs as much as 2-3 full price titles used to cost, while at the same time not delivering a corresponding increase in quality and content.
On top of all that, all this is for a game that simply seizes to exist the very second that PGI goes belly up.
I expected PGI to do exactly this when they add the Clans and I still do, but I was surprised that they did it just now. Eventually, there will be three money grabs and each one will become more and more absurd. The pricing in this game is already way off and so far they have done nothing at all to adjust that. Not even once. And they don't need to, because enough sheople roll with it.
"Shut up and take my money" has to be the most mindless, most self-debasing statement that could ever come from a consumer's mouth.
I don't know if I will buy this. Right now I think I won't, but if I did, I already know that I will not be happy about it. There is a sense of disgust and abomination that will not wash away.

The shadow hawk they are quoting doesn't seem great hardpoint wise. Single energy compared to three ballistic and three missile. I know it comes with only a single laser but couldn't we have stretched to two energy points.
I may still get it but neither of these phoenix mechs seem to be the best variants of the mechs they could have chosen. Makes me think the standard ones will have better hardpoints but by then it's too late to buy it.

They really need to hire someone whose sole job is to communicate with the community. They started great but are doing a terrible job nowadays.
