That is their fault, a pre-order package should be a limited one off. This still feels like a quick fix as they know the game is stagnating quickly.

Same here. By the time that is out this game will be forgotten by me.

Gosh would i feel stupid if i had payed 120 for a founder pack.
Paying 80$ like four months in advance to get the battlemaster three whole months early?
Honestly, this sounds like they are in desperate need of money. They need fast cash and they need it now.

I gave them founders money, they spent it on MW: Tactics and some sh1tty mobile games. I bought a bit of ludicrously overpriced MC. I haven't invested much into this game (maybe $60 which is about what a AAA game costs theses days) because I just didn't feel like PGI had earned my trust.
Now I see that this is indeed the case, I just feel sorry for anybody who has really bought into the dream - I know guys with $500 in this game and when you get to that point you just have to keep buying or you feel like a fool. It is the same way the Nigerean romance scams work. Get them to make the initial investment and then gradually milk it out of them.
Don't get me wrong I don't have a problem with new content. But this is content that is ONLY accessible for $$$ (not CBills, or even MC for people with a lot of that floating around). That is not Free2Play - it is Pay2Play. I would probably even excuse it if the actual game was progressing and had any of the features that we had been promised such as:
> Community Warfare
> DX11
> Dropship modes
> 12v12
> In-game comms
> Clans
Get out while you still can guys. That's all I can say.

Exactly my problem. I got a receipt so I know it went through, and I assume it will be fixed, but it feels unerwhelming and makes me nervous not to see anything show up in my "credits" tab. Waiting for an update on this.

Q: Will I be able to choose which Mech is included in my package? Can I switch it later?
A: Project Phoenix packages contain predefined contents and thus cannot be mixed-and-matched.
This is really unfair to players who don't pilot Light mechs. I mainly pilot Assaults, with the occasional Heavy. They suit my playing style better. I would be the worst Light pilot in the world. So when I bought the middle tier founders pack, naturally I chose the Atlas.
But with Project Phoenix, if I want the Assault, I have to buy the most expensive tier, and get 6 mechs (Light and Medium) that I will never EVER pilot, and 3 mechs that I will rarely pilot (Heavy).
If I'd got the choice of which mechs I wanted, I probably would have bought the lowest tier. But because I don't, you won't be getting my $20, and I'll just wait to buy the Assaults with Cbills.

Clearly the giveaway of so much premium time is in hope that people who buy the package will actually go onto play the game regularly throughout their 4 months of premium time, throughout possibly the darkest 4 months of the game yet. With no real road map or understanding of where the game is actually heading or what it will be like. It's a pretty clear attempt to shore up the player base through the 'launch' phase, and yes as has been said it's a direct appeal to the hardcore player base - who are going to suffer most from what we have learned so far. Plus for a company that usually charges way too high for anything this low price knock down sale has a clear whiff of desperation.
Part of me wants to get the package but PGI / IGP have behaved in such a disgraceful manner in so many ways over recent months that I will spend my money elsewhere. I dont have much faith and trust left in this game as it is now. Of course I keep an open mind and would love to be pleasantly surprised.
The steam summer sale is about to start and theres alot of great games coming out for the pc over the next 6 months.

A: For those who do not Buy a Project Phoenix Package - The Standard Variants release schedule is currently set as:
Oct 15, 2013: Locust
Nov 20, 2013: Shadowhawk
Dec 18, 2013: Thunderbolt
Jan 22, 2014: Battlemaster
Does that basically mean that those who buy Phoenix will get 12 new mech variants on October 15th? And those who won't buy Phoenix will be able to buy only Locust for c-bills and will have to wait till November-December-January to get other 3 mechs?
Does that mean that Phoenix is sort of Early Access to at least 3 new mechs?

It appears so. Early access to medium, heavy and assault variant. I doubt I will buy anything before I see some information about CW and other stuff. This might be a good indication of some quality information coming our way in the next few weeks. Fortunatly this sale will last at least a month so I will wait to hear about CW before I decide to buy anything.

1. So if I activate my founders' premium time now and buy the $80 tier, will I get 30days banked now, +90 days banked upon phoenix launch + 60days running now?
2. Will we ever get an option to only activate a part of the premium time, say a week/month at a time? I don't want to start 120days all at once.
3. Will PGI think of another "legendary" tier for phoenix, like with the founders, $100+?

With biggest package the hero mechs alone are worth 16.500 mc's, 11,550 if they're on 30% sale (I wouldn't buy them otherwise), so they alone are worth arund 50$. And if you count premium time, early access to at least 3 mechs (with standard variants so you can easily master them all), mechbays, cockpit items...
It is blatant cash grab, but probably the best one since the founder packs.
I'd get at least 40$ one, maybe upgrade it later to 60$

Now this, cheers PGI for nothing, you lost my vote.
This feels like a cheap marketing scheme to keep players in the game,
Well we are Special. We also got our founders mech(s), premium time and 80$ worth of MCs

4 new mechs, 3 variants each, including 1 unique Phoenix variant for each.
Rest of the people can buy basic variants of those mechs later but not that Phoenix variant.
--> "Phoenix BattleMechs will never be made available again."
Reading helps.

All you lucky enough to get founders seem to purely be upset bcause your not as special anymore?? Well boo hoo. Poor you.
Honestly for the love of god. People have been asking for something like this for ages! Leave it to this god awful community to have a problem with something like this.
Just leave now, if you don't like it, dont play it. Just stop spewing all your nonsensical hate speeches all over the forum and watch the door doesnt hit your *** on the way out.
@ PGI. Keep up the great work. The game aint perfect right not but i know theres a LOT coming. Just ignore these idiots and keep positive!

To me, that looks like either;
A/ The phoenix buyer's get all their mechs on oct 15th. In which case non-buyers have to wait for up to 3 months for PGI to release them despite them being completed and buyers have to wait 4 months before a new mech is released for them.
Or
B/ The FAQ is wrong when it states all contents of the package are delivered Oct 15th
Whichever it is, lol.
