It will grow and there will be new players.
If the current purchasing players number 50,000 and cutting the price of everything in half increases it to 75,000 people in the 80 package example they have lost 1,000,000 dollars. The number of purchasers would have to double just to break even, and will the fringe people buying at half the rate stick around? They are much better off with the pricing scheme they have.
Presuming 50 thousand people buy this is assuming that almost the games entire playing population buys this. That's not even close to realistic. Yes, cutting the price in half requires that twice as many people buy to break even. Games that are making a hell of a lot more money than this one (lol, TF2, Dota2, WoT, most MMOs) rarely surpass 40 dollars on
anything. There are reasons for that.
Your assumption that a game that can't attract new players by the developers own admission, and has a very small community is better off for pricing structures that keep new players away while creating dramatic and visible tiers in the community is questionable.
