I'm going to predict the Shadow Hawk 2H equips two energy on the right arm (doubling book), missile in head (Streak/SRM4/LRM5), missile right torso (piddly 5 tubes), ballistic left torso. Pretty light for a 55 ton mech. Even if it carries two ballistic and more missiles, this is a soft mech. Incidentally, this is either a Clan refit (not possible), or a named hero variant using a Heavy PPC and a Light PPC, items not in the game.

Thunderbolt 5S is also a Clan refit, which means it won't be carrying those items. Probably the 5Sb load - LRM with Artemis, Streak, ERPPC, two small puses, 3 mediums, LRM15. One energy right arm, two or three missile right torso, three enrgy left torso, two energy left arm.

The Battlemaster, who knows. The "1G" is the default build but there is a named hero and four named subvariants of "1G" on Sarna for a total of six possible builds to translate. Bad news is a couple of them incorporate a Command Console which is still worthless in MWO, so maybe it will have several ECM variants.

No, TDR-5S is the designation for the original 3025 Thunderbolt. Just like BLR-1G is the original 3025 Battlemaster. LCT-1V is the original 3025 Locust and SHD-2H is the original 3025 Shadow Hawk. Clan refits may have used the same designations because they basically just added clantech to the old mechs, but these are the originals, make no mistake about that.

Believe this is good value....

To give you an idea - lets assume the average MC value of the 12 mechs in the overlord package is 2000. 12 X 2000 = 24000mc = $100

Secondly, lets look at the cost of the 120 DAYS premium time; $80/120 = $0.66 per day

While the cost of the premium is average compared to the standard cost e.g. 180 Days = 13500MC = $53.97-$75.06 = $0.30-$0.42/Day, on top of that your getting 12 mechs which if purchased outright would effectively cost around $100.

If we only consider the 4 'unique variants' given the bonus they offer and that they can be likened to hero mechs, 8000mc = ~$30 so the value of the premium time would be around $50 = $0.41

120 days x 0.41 = $49.2
12 x 2000 (avg per mech) = 2400mc = $100

plus cockpit items - 750mc x 4 = 3000mc = ~$12
plus unique camo for all four variants and colour (750 x 4) + 750 = 3750mc = ~$15

= $177 value

Disclaimer: Estimate only, i did this while at work so didnt have much time.

Do you get mech bays with the purchase too or do I need to clear space in my mechlab? If I am understanding everything, you get 12 mechs with the Overlord package. That is quite a few bays to fill up.

Every mech comes with a free bay (read the FAQ and the info page...).

Value is the assumption that we have a goal system, right now we have a counterstrike clone with big stompy mechs.

cant believe you will have to wait like 2 or 3 months to be able to get the battlemaster unless you buy the big package...pay to win much?

edit: should let you pick the mech you want if u get the low package

This games all about p2p/p2w...or pay to be competitive w/out any grind whatsoever or progression for that matter. I have one acct w/founders that's about as much as im gonna give em till more is done to fix the problems and add some CW/Meta...as it is now its a incomplete game and not worth another of my moneys.
And yes it should give the ability to pick if one were to purchase the lower pack, similar to the founders. However they proly know that a great many would like the battlemaster and thus pay the $80 in order to get it. Just a bit excessive greed imo.

Hrm... didn't we already have this? It was the Founders program and was a huge success. I'm glad that some classic mechs are making a comeback but it does feel strange to see the same promotion repeated when the last program hasn't even fulfilled all of its obligations.

I'll probably invest in it for sure but the taste in my mouth is a little sour.

I'm not so familiar with the BattleTech Universe so could anyone tell me what cannon the mech is holding in his right hand?It looks like a gigantic Warhammer 40k Storm Bolter. o_O

Reminds me of something from Unreal. The big pink-skinned brutes with the giant cannon-pistols that shoot missiles.

Here... I might point something out. We got 4 mechs with unique appearances for 120 dollars plus premium time, 80 dollars worth of MC, and a tag.

Now we get 12 mechs (4 with full hero-mech bonuses and founder-ish unique appearances but remember these are not actually unique variants; same as the cbill ones with unique geometry / physical features and grind bonuses), a unique pattern (unclear if we can apply it to other things), unique shades of colors to apply to other things, some cockpit decorations that also give bonuses, and quite a bit more for 80 dollars with 90 (or if you get something today 120) days of premium time.

Similar concept but not quite the same deal. I gotta say I like this one better.

Btw TruePoindexter, I've been meaning to ask you. Do you have an affiliate partnership with one of the game groups out there such as zoomingames, ng4tv, machinima, etc? If so or if not, do you have a preference between them?

Indeed...and ofc.
Your simple take on it is indicative of American culture...ignorant and its okay their just trying to make a dollar. Their are also consumer expectations that should be upheld and considered.
