Normal variants have no "limited edition geometry", i'l be waitin' for clan founder programm if it comes out.

We'll see how successful phoenix is but given the Clan's popularity i think an early package is a certainty. Alot of the newer BT fans relate to the Clan mechs more.

Upgraded to Overlord.

But I just realized something that makes me sad.

July, August, September, October...

A lil' more than 90 days. Why I no can has the 90 days premium time nao? It'd be like a clock ticking away to when I can use my new fun toys!

Think of it this way - it's my Christmas a couple of months early.

Admittedly I'm holding off to buy anything until I see the balancing stuff that comes in. If the bigger balancing changes that need to happen (some sort of heat scale or effect, trouble from overheating, something to deal with massive alpha damage, SRMs, etc. etc. etc) then it really doesn't matter, does it? Even a Battlemaster couldn't make the current meta really enjoyable.

I'm hopeful though. Always hopeful.

Already been worked on. You're operating on the assumption that nothing will change - it will and does.
And undoubtedly there's gonna be some different changes in the future that you're gonna hate. Up to you whether you want to pilot any of the Phoenix mechs.

For me, it's the chance to pilot some of my favourite mechs. Supporting PGI is an incidental.. a good one but still incidental to my main purpose for gaming - my enjoyment.

Oh come on, it's been said often enough by now that neither artists nor animators work on gameplay balancing, obviously.

I must admit I haven't read all 74 pages of this post and searching has not uncovered anything but is there a limit on the number of mech bays? I'm asking because if you buy whatever Phoenix package and you get those free mech bays but you are also near a mech bay limit then what? I've read differing posts on whether there is a limit or not...

I get that and I'm expecting to put money down. The only question is, is MWO going in a direction I'm going to get $80 entertainment out of? I want those mechs - love them from the games history and it seems like a great deal for the money but only if I'm going to be playing it.

Yep, often by me. The issue isn't 'will having these mechs made prevent game balancing', game balancing in terms of actually adjusting the specs in the XML file that weapon stats are in before it's compiled for the next build. I've got a month to see what direction the game is going, that's all I'm saying. Until late July to decide if the direction balancing is going is one that's worth $80 to enjoy. That's all. Maybe I'm just PPCed out, I dunno. Regardless it's worth saying that I and probably a couple of other people absolutely want to give $80 to PGI for these mechs and the perks the package comes with - if the game is going to be one that's enjoyable to play. I'm struggling to enjoy the current PPC driven meta right now. Have been for some months. Took a month or so off from the game to play something else, came back and it's exactly the same. Now I'm questioning if this is the direction PGI wants to take the game. If so that's great! It's just not one that interests me.

Make sense?

Yeah, the founder's mechs have limited edition geometry which is most noticeable with the Atlas' and Catapult's heads / cockpits.

Funny. I have both and never noticed either was different.

There are multiple people on the forum who own all variants. The limit must be over 70.

Apparently, you can buy other packages that don't include the Battlemaster! *gasp* I myself don't believe it to be true, but it's just what I heard. I mean, who cares about any other mech than the Battlemaster, right?

Well, I mainly want the Shadow Hawk, but will probably get the Overlord Pack.

concept art is indeed not to scale

As for the cockpit on the battlemaster. Yeah. That was a matter of making it not a massive shoot me here target as well as visually making it distinct from the original art, as it would not be legally responsible of us to make designs based directly off the unseen. As such, I did my best to try to carry over the feel of the originals but with different details and with a bias towards how our gameplay works. i.e having pelvises (locust), not having vertical lines bisecting a cockpit (thunderbolt) and not having a mech that has a cockpit that can be shot from space (battlemaster)

be that as it may, depending on feedback, i can always try to adjust and tweak things a bit for the orthos.

I understand not making the BattleMaster cockpit a giant target, but the TT Project Phoenix version kept the rounded cockpit, apparently without (legal) issues. At the very least I'd like to see it raised up in the torso a bit more--perhaps level with the SRM launcher. It wouldn't be the only Mech with a tall head in the game. Right now it looks so much like a Zeus.

I never thought that the BM could look so good. I especially like the Zeus like cockpit. please don't put that bubble head back on or extend the cockpit out so far you can't miss a head shot.

Expect to see LCT-1V vs. SDR-5K duels, same hardpoints, so far only difference is Spider has JJ and maybe more max armor.
LCT-1V is now the new Mech to prove how good a pilot you are.
