Hello everyone. This is the first Mech game I've gotten into since they killed the Chromehounds servers. It looks great, I've always prefered the games where Mechs feel "heavy" rather than boosting all over the place at light speed á la Japanese anime.
Anyhow, so I have a somewhat technical question: Whenever I start the launcher this Win7 shield thing pops up asking me if I will allow the game to make changes to my computer and what not. Usually you only get that during setup/install so what gives?

I have it pop-up every time. I believe you can change it in settings.
Don't worry, the MWO client won't change anything. It's just asking whether or not you want to run the application.

Yeah, every time for me too. And even if I change the notification settings there is still a little shield icon on the MWO icon. Just asking 'cause no other launcher-based MMO I play do the same.

Because the Launcher is also a Patcher it needs Admin rights to run. Yeah, it can and should be fixed but honestly there are more important things to do. This is a .Net artifact.
Ohhh and they already have UI 2.0 in the pipeline and coming Soon so fixing it for this UI is pointless.

Create a shortcut to the executable.
Right click shortcut, select properties.
Should be a "compatibility" tab. In there is an option to "run as administrator."
This should fix the constant prompt. I'm so used to UAC prompts I just click through and don't bother fixing it

Tried that, it still gives me the business when I try to run it. Since it's nothing to worry about, I'll just have to get used to it.
