This came across my desk today: Project Phoenix

Are you [EXPLETIVE DELETED] kidding me? Not only are we a couple years into this WITHOUT the Community Warfare meta-game. Not only did PGI opt to come out with these terrible hero mechs and partially screw over the Founders. But, now you come out with this and just fully [EXPLETIVE DELETED] the Founders.

New mechs are cool. But, managing them like a company that is just in it for the denarius? Not cool.

It seems like PGI is just saying "Oh? You bought in back when this game was just a collection of bugs and a dream and got a single mech, some creds and a month of premium game time? Well now you get to enjoy eating a big 'ol bag of [EXPLETIVE DELETED] because PGI already has your money and doesn't need you anymore. Now you can pay ANOTHER $60 and feel like complete idiots for ever helping to get this [EXPLETIVE DELETED] off the ground."

This game had origionally aimed to be the Mech Warrior game that fans had waited for. Instead it's being reduced to a half-completed [EXPLETIVE DELETED] hemorrhaging bugs and balance nerfs that someone has taken a moment to scribble dollar signs all over.

This Founder... Is out.

I gotta agree this is just redonk, when I saw the pre-order my first thought was "You gotta be F***in kidding me"

The games still in Beta, no CW, no Clans and you want to pile on another pseudo-Founder style package? Seriously shame on me buying it the first time but twice? no way.

edit: I just wanna edit this by saying I didn't rage it's more like a depressed "this game feels like a giant cash grab" the gameplay just isn't there, bashing mechs together is fun for a bit but with no real reason to play, as in no Merc groups or House units or whatever your gonna band together as, no community warfare, and for some of us the factions we want to play aren't even available yet (CLANS). It gets stale and its just.. so far behind that seeing yet another "Hey drop a big chunk of money on this game" just leaves a sour taste

Did you miss the "Loyalty Point Bonus" on the limited edition mechs and what it implies?

GIVE ME MY DEVASTATOR! I am not a founder (found out about the game a bit late) but i have been throwing cash at them ($200) hoping for some more mechs (devastator) and I admit to having bought the YEL-ER-WANG! and ILYA Muromets but I couldn't resist the ballistic sexiness and will probably cave to the firebrand also. So sorry founders but I am not surprised but this makes me nervous about clans and drop-ship gamemodes because it seems like they are softening us up for the bad news. Which would make me a sad mechwarrior and probably force me into my old drinking binges and rages. But hey at least I have been along for the long mechwarrior ride and if it is coming to an end I would like to have some Clan mechs as memorabilia.

I'm actually very excited. For a long time people were saying if you add in the unseen we will buy them for real money. So they release them in a package so they are cheaper than most Hero mechs (if you purchased 4 of them), plus you get a lot of extras. In addition they are still releasing c-bill only versions for people that don't feel like paying real money. I normally don't like paying for extras in video games, but I think this is very fair and well done.

People are completely entitled to their feelings, I don't mean to state otherwise, but the OPs feelings completely baffle me. Perhaps the fact that I'm enjoying the game has colored my feelings. Still a shame about the macross mechs though ;).

Purchased Overlord tier right away. And I'd paid the $120 for the Founders' pack, too. I've gotten my money's worth out of the game for the Founders' pack and I look forward to getting my money's worth out of this pack, too.

I feel sorry for folks who can't seem to enjoy the game. I personally love it. I don't run with groups of friends so I never have to worry about the 'meta' in 8-man drop games. I only drop with AC/20 boats on rare occasions. PPC boats are a bit more common but they aren't that difficult to deal with in my Spider. It's a game, not a competition. I play to have fun and blow **** up.

I look forward to blowing **** up in my new Project Phoenix mechs when they arrive.

To counter this (and agree)

I don't pay money for anything in this, and I work. Digital 'Mechs and fake paint aren't worth $80. I could buy 10 games off Steam during the summer sale.

New 'Mech but...
Same weapons...
Probably hit the same existing weight classes...
Same loadouts...
Same maps...
Same game play....

There's no justification in the purchase. I could have a 1000% C bill bonus, but there's nothing worth buying with C-bills.

Sure, I don't have a fancy "founders" tag beside my name, but I don't really care. I'm not here to impress anyone.

Pay-as-you-go gaming just isn't my thing. I'll go Linux/Indie before I start paying monthly.

I think it's awesome as well! I am ordering the Overlord package as well. This is exactly what I was asking for in my previous post "Beta Tester's Packages?"

http://mwomercs.com/...sters-packages/

You will always be founders, nothing will ever change that. This is a chance for all of the rest of us that came afterwards in the Beta to distinguish ourselves from the rest of the world once MWO goes Live. This offer does not "cheapen" the founders packages in any way, nor does it offer similar rewards of in-game c-bills, ect. Mechwarrior Online is going to be huge, for years and years to come. Everyone will know who the founders are, nobody will be able to prove who played during the Beta and who didn't. Which leaves the rest of us "beta testers" out in the cold, until now. I applaud this decision by the devs. We asked and they listened. Plus, it gives MWO more funds to assist with the game's official release.

The founders that originally responded welcomed the idea

In conclusion, THANK YOU!! ;)

I would have been much more excited for a Clan pack. BUT, new mechs coming out in no way diminishes your founder mechs, you knew more mechs would come out. They said there WOULD be new packages/bundled later (It's later!). Just because mechs are being announced doesn't mean CW isn't coming along behind the scenes- Mech artists don't make community warfare (primarily a game design task, but also some coding and UI I assume).

Yeah A founder's package for the next meta-game implementation! As time goes by... hopefully the game evovles....along with it's sales...and I love it..as Lord Psycho.. i just had to shell out for the Overlord Package. I kind of wanted to skip out of Thunderbolt..but I said..eh why not? it's twelve Mechs for $80...and 3 of those have Hero type boosts. I have 3600MC worth of mechbays included...and if I calculate an average of 1000MC per mech...this package has a value of 15600MC.....on a low average?

so in in retrospect it should be much more nearer 2000MC per mech...but telling people they are saving money by spending $80 on 27600MC worth of stuff which costs over $100? mehs..you guys do what you want ..i want my 55 ton medium mech when it rolls out.

and that loyalty point boost..yums..i'm going to be useful if I ever get out of solo pugging...but ehs...people would love to have me in their faction...I guess....

time to go back collecting and mastering more mechs......
