Ok someone, please correct me if I am wrong in my general calcualtions.
Two ER PPCs generate 11 heat each. If I fire them in pairs I should be generating 22 heat every 4 seconds.
16 Double Heat sinks fuctioning at 1.4 effeciency should be able to disappate 22.4 heat every 3 seconds I believe.
Therefore with 16 DHS, shouldn't I be able to fire a pair of ER PPCs continously without ever overheating my mech?

*shrug* Smurfy sez no.

16 DHS = 2.84 h/s
capacity = 58.40 heat
heat generation = 5.5 h/s
overheat = 21 sec. (with no skills)

I use 20 DHS for 2 ER PPC's, and you basically can fire them continuously if you stagger fire.

I know that is what happens. i.e. I overheat very quickly using dual ER PPCs, even in chain fire. What I am saying is that it seems to be very broken that it happens.
Same goes with my QD 5K, 1 LL, 4 ML and 19 DHS. Even at only 1.4 value instead of the 2.0 value, I should still be able to disappate heat at an TT equalivant of 26.6 Heat sinks. That means that I should be able to continuously fire both LL and 2 MLs without overheating my mech but that is not what happens.
I also noticed that 15 DHS (supposedly equalivant to 21 single heatsinks at 1.4x effectiveness) are much more effective than the 21 Single heat sinks. Again this seems odd or quite frankly broken.
What am I missing aside from PGI screwing with us that is hehe.

yes, basically both SHS and DHS just need to be revamped at this point.

a DHS dissipates 1.4 heat per 10 secs. and a EDHS dissipates 2.0 heat per 10.
So you are generating 22/4 = 5.5 Heat/sec
and dissipating (10 x 2 + 6 * 1.4) 28.4 / 10 = 2.84 Heat/sec
thus you overheat.
So you are generating 22/4 = 5.5 Heat/sec
and dissipating (10 x 2 + 6 * 1.4) 28.4 / 10 = 2.84 Heat/sec
thus you overheat.

Ahh yeah, that is right. I am forgetting that they trippled the rate of fire on weapons will leaving Heat disappation still based on the table top cycle of 10s. This on top of the 1.4 rate "double" Heat Sink crap.
Anyway, thanks for the reminder. That explains everything.
