And normally, a non-Founders variant is a better performer (HBK, anybody?).

The extra (f) at the end of my name gives me away quicker since my mech name is so much longer.

its the game we are playing. I don't make the rules.

You mean the ever changing Meta? Ahhh, right. My bad. Forgot about all the bandwagoneers out there that will, hopefully someday, have something real to bandwagon on about.

Taken not seriously, a lot of the threads in this forum can be very funny. Read too much though, you end up thinking humanity should just off itself to save itself the agony.

You mean there is a hope it is only a matter of perception? Lynx7725, consider: these people vote in elections.

people still play mediums?

I do about 450 damage in my HBK-4G(f) per match if I am smart ;)

Well thats new... I was thinking the hardpoints are custom for the phoenix models.

People still listen to pink floyd, why you surpised.

Nah, just like teh Founders mechs. Same loadouts but different skin and C-Bill bonus. And slightly different 3D model (Catapult has a nose or beak where the standard doesn't)

It's gonna be a cross between a Trebuchet and a Quickdraw. It'll disrupt power as much as any of the recent mechs have...not at all. No medium mech disrupts power in the game in the first place. Nor do any of the 60s, so you're just trolling.

We don't disrupt power but we who know our mediums sure scare the hell out of the power disrupters. Awww mister Stalker are those PPC's your wearing? Should have been paying a tad more attention to who was comming up behind ya. Boom, POW!

The phoenix varient looks pretty dicey. Compare it to the hunch 4g. The same 3 ballistic hardpoints in the side torso and the extra 5 tons isn't gonna make it any better of a dakka mech. At least the 4g has 3 energy points u can combine with perhaps an ac20 for a crappy but at least somewhat viable option that the SH can't match. Instead it'll suppliment something like the ac20 with heavier and trashier srms. The only way I see this thing working is with its massive engine and machine guns in the ballistic slots. Were they to buff srms and eliminate the cone of fire for mguns that could get scary...maybe.
You're overlooking the suppressive effect of a battery of AC2. The shoulder mount could help present a very small, very distant target (or two, including the head) if the pilot knows how high the terrain will occlude direct fire. Add in some speed and you might throw a whole lot of rounds downstream in a hurry from a less exposed target than a Raven. In theory. In theory you could use the HBK-G similarly, but you still have to have the right terrain. I'd call it a situational specialist.

Yes and no.

yes because on paper the weapons work out.

No, and because this is the primary reason I use the Dragon is that all of those hardpoints ARE in one location, there is no convergence issues it's all going to the same spot and that is a powerful tool.

On the other hand there is the competitive environment.

I am apart of the Marik Civil War league and we have drop limits for our 8v8's. 425,475,600. So yeah slowing down a 55 ton mech which isn't all that slow at 82 kph to turn it into a poor man's Jager is amazing.

Downgrading a Jager to a Shadowhawk, then with the difference you can take a highlander instead of an awesome.

So I'm sure I look at these mechs a little differently than the casual player.

Is that the best build for the Shadowhawk? Depends on your play style, i'm sure there will be all sorts of fantastic builds for this mech, maybe not builds that people prefer. One person's horrible hardpoints is another person's "Hawt Damn"

If you're actually using tonnage limits, then that's totally valid. I was more thinking of the current "anything goes" matchmaker.

Personally I'm going to be trying to fit a 350XL (or at least a 325XL) into mine, because speed.

These aren't the only mechs we have right now that do it. The Dragon Flame's left torso cannon is high mounted at cockpit level and you can do the same thing. Same as the others but they have energy slots so you can mount a PPC to the same effect.

Thankfully someone caught it on the first page. As for the rest of you who went to six pages. Are you that gullible?

Either this community is way too easy to troll, or the OP is that good. I'm going to go with the former.
