If they agree to give us the "overlord founder" I'm really curious about how my froum tag will look like in a couple of years... maybe I'll become "overlord of doomsdays' wrathbringer who has one ring to rule them all bringing down the house by buying stuff avenging his house by slaying the clans founder"... Has a nice ring to it. Don't you agree? Of course I'd fill up a whole forum page by just saying "yes" because of my gazillion badges.
Does anyone but me notice that greed will get us nowhere?

First off, use more commas. Your post barely makes sense.

Second, the world does not work like america does. Free market is not everywere. And that's actually a good thing. But arguing about that doesn't belong here. BTW, I live in Germany, and we have the social market economy.

Anyways, what you want is showing off. You already got something for your money, remember? Let me remind you, what you are paying for in the first place: Premium time, Battlemechs, Items, Paint etc.

You just want to show off your badge, that has nothing to do with getting what you pay for, it's just so everyone can see you spent money on something. I don't want PGI to waste time by creating useless badges. I don't care if you are a founder or not.

A FTP game needs to make money.

If it encourages people to spend more money becasue it allows them to show something for it on a forum, or in game, and if it gives no competitive advantage, it is marketing/sales retardation not to do it.

No. Not at that size. They might be able to use smaller icons in the player's forum profile (i.e., that pop-up window that comes up when you mouse over the player's forum name), but that still wouldn't be viable for in-game badge display. Especially when more packages with titles/badges are released in the future.

Personally the Founder and Overlord thing to me never really mattered. I purchased a Founder program because I saw a lot of potential with this game, I'm going to buy the Overlord because I'm having a ton of fun with this game and plan to have much more. I don't really care if people know it (although the Founder Symbol is cool looking so I'm just going to keep that).

What you think about adding the badge to a shoulder or leg, or maybe any other location of your mech? In this case players can show it to all, without overpacking the forum and startup screen with badges. Faction and Clan Tags will be implemented with UI 2.0, should not be this complicated to generate this badges as a Tag for players who baught one of this packs or any packs in the future.

I don't need a badge to show people Ive invested as much money into this game as a founder has, I just didn't buy the first founders package.

I think it would be pretty simple to just alter the ratio of each badge and just join them in the center. and if and when more packs come out you can keep changing the ratio and quarter or even eight them like they did on heraldic shields.

It's not like they make you not going down when a 6ppcstalker hits your ct who is piloted by a player who just recently got into the game and figured out it is the cheapest way to collect kills.

I just like the 1 time 'mechs...which turn out to be nothing more than base variants with a fancy paint job that I want to change 6 months down the track...buyers regret much? Either way, I'll be getting the overlord pack; only for the 'mechs, the tags and stuff mean nothing to me.

Yeah I don't learn.

Enh I like the Founders mechs if only for grinding cash. But I LOVE my founders tag it shows that I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is and not just be a free loader that whines and complains on the forums without attempting to help change things. So yes I want ALL my tags showing.

I don't show my tag ingame anyway, but if you're determined to demonstrate that you're not one of the peasants you could just show the founder tag and drop in a Battlemaster.

Well the forums are not the service but ever dress affair and any time I had leave I had every single ribbon POSSIBLE on. And I shall do the same on ZEE forums for every post I make which is about once a month.

The OP didn't pretend to deserve anything and wasn't being childish.

Except insofar as every human is also a child his desire for distinction was simply human, and he was honest enough to ask about it.

On the other hand, after displaying that you recognize the value we helped PGI afford to the gaming community, a community that now has a new MechWarrior game to play in part because we were willing to risk the loss of real money you heap scorn and derision on those of us who did spring for the bucks.

This suggests to me that you have personal issues and should get a little maturity into your character.

Don't try and dish out what you cannot handle yourself, child.

Yes, and then you can build a deck of founder and later promotion cards. Then PGI adds a magic the gathering style cardgame where you can buy "hero" cards.
