Seemed to me that the flea design was a cry to be a locust. Like you could have told me the flea was a locust and i'd believe it.

Do you think now that they do have locust they should go for like the old school box on legs?

I think the new concept art for the flea looks great, and that both 20 tonners are fine.

You know, ironically they might both actually do well because the vast majority of people are going to totally ignore them in a battle. Neither are going to really be able to mount enough firepower to do more than annoy most mech. This however will mean they can pretty much run around damaging the enemy with impunity, at least until the end of battle which may very well allow them to rack up alot of damage, assists and maybe a few Kill steals.

Current streak mechanics mean some very dead bugs. They just don't have enough armor.

It makes me very, very sad because I would love to run around nibbling people's heels with one but the second I meet a Jenner, 3L, X-5, Trebuchet, etc etc etc with streaks it's over. Small size and amazing agility mean nothing when streaks are so agile they can literally run circles around you like a Catherine wheel.

Honestly, the Flea just isn't fast enough to work. The version with MASC can only go 150 KPH without MASC and only 200kph with it. The Locust can go 200 kph on engine alone. Plus there's at least one locust that can carry a couple LRM5 the only really useful weapons for a mech going that fast.

Top speed for Locust is 129.6 km/h with a 160 engine. The largest it can get is a 170 engine. I doubt the 10 extra engine gauge will bring it from 130 km/h to 182 (which it would need to run at 200 after speed tweak). According to the wiki its max speed is 151 km/h with tweak.

Um, not in my experience. I find the streaks usless even when running a streakcat.

i don't much mind the rework

the flea was very ugly in the original art. Though i like the MW4 flea design a lot more.

the MWO flea and locust have very similar cockpits. (maybe because they are both so small)
but i hope to god PGI doesn't mess up the 20 tonner's scaling. If they are even the size of jenners, its a death sentence.

Well... there goes my excuse of 'playing lightest mech in game.'

Unless they add the Thron or Mercury I can't play mechs with no arms D:>

Both mechs do seem very close tho. I expect one will end up being bigger and the other becoming the supposed 'best' 20 ton.
That or one will have a ****** upper body (Flea), and the other will have easy to hit legs (Locust).
