I still dont get the factions thing. Ok, its in the lore some geek wrote many moons ago so keep the theme going I guess.
Really I am grown and just dont get into the whole fantasy of claiming aleigance to an imaginary freind. 12 and 13 year old kids need those things. I would worry that maybe I have taken things too far and should like plant a garden or do some comunity service or something. Maybe even get interested in the oppisite sex?

Is there a Clan addict anonymous meeting somewhere so you can all talk yourselves down?

Actually, only about three-fourths of you will be bondsmen by 3052, the remaining seven worlds will be Comstar lackeys with no power.

Come to think of it, MechCommander had several scenarios where you fought Smoke Jaguar bondsmen, and they were in stock Inner Sphere mechs. I'm pretty sure the clans used second-line equipment (non-omni-mechs) for garrisons and solhama units, and bondsmen mostly used whatever they operated before they were bondsmen. Bondsmen didn't even get Inner Sphere refits. Bondsmen were stuck with equipment that was third-rate by clan standards.

I can't relate to any of the wanna-be Ghost Bears around here. Not that I'm into the roleplaying side of this, but I'd rather run with Inner Sphere basic tech than play with the vat-grown space commies. Most of the way they run things seems pretty stupid, and I want no part of it.

The whole point of a game is for fun. If claiming allegiance to a faction makes the game more fun for you then do it; if not, don't. No need to criticize people who are into it though.

I joined the FRR in part to fight off the Clans and put us on an alternate timeline, not to submit to them.

No invasion has yet happened. The original invasion was a surprise, so it would arguably be more canon for the FRR to not actually be the frontlines. I don't expect us to see any sort of Clan activity until we've had at least some amount of time with Inner Sphere only community warfare.

The Free Rasalhague Republic is great for what it stands for. People should join for that. Or because their friends are here. Or because our uniforms are the coolest (needed for when you're going around outside the cockpit).

This in its entirety. I swore myself to the Republic to fight its enemies, not suck some Ghost Bear's Omni Weapon Mount. If this FRR can fight harder than the canonical one, then all the better.

Since my divorce, and another relationship that ended almost as badly, I consider the "oppisite" sex to be somewhat overrated.

Maybe you should have played less video games when someone was trying to teach you spelling and punctuation. It might help the credibility of your claims that you're all grown up, or that we should listen to you. Did you not see the red squiggles of the spell check?

You spell almost as badly as my ex-wife, whose willful lack of education was one of the things that came between us.

You know, just to let you know that by 17th of July, anyone who said they will defend the FRR from the Clan threat will quite frankly fail before he even got a chance to do something.

Pfft doesn't mean we stop fighting just because the capital has fallen, we don't stop fighting till we get back that which is ours.
