Well, if that was what IGP/PGI were aiming for, good job. There's a thread that got locked at 5pm and 2 and half hours later, it's still on first page of the gameplay balance forum.

I said a few months ago that an alive forum meant an healthy game, well now it seems the game is getting sick. Not in terminal stage yet, but if nothing is done to reconcile PGI with its community, not even launch will save MWO.

Said launch will be the biggest test yet. If you don't see an influx of thread/players arguing at launch, then yeah, people will have stopped caring about this game.

Don't worry it will pick up. The new target audience just hasn't learnt to read yet.

Or maybe they're just tired of rehashing the same topics that just get ignored anyways.

Complaining on the forums is just as effective as writing your congressman. Which is to say unless it affects overall profitability/chance of reelection (repeat business) you're going to be ignored.

So if enough people decide to not buy MC due to an issue PGI will do something otherwise no chance.

People finally realize that their feedback and suggestions are in vain and have given up. What's the point of giving the devs feedback if they willfully ignore it? Not to mention the devs did this INTENTIONALLY when they split general discussion up into a million smaller forums to better hide dissent. So yea, 'working as intended' sadly.

Yup, the 3PV implementation was a swift kick to the player base. The long list of lies and lack of information culminated on the 3PV patch to drive away even the once most dedicated.

if that's the case, I'm glad to be mistaken then. I'd be interested in knowing the numbers of forum goers around january/february/march when things seemed to be at their peak.

I don't want MWO to fail, but at the same time I disagree with so many design choices that I don't feel as attached to the game as I used to in CB.

Too many forum people online? game dying cause no ones playing.

Not enough forum users? game dying because no ones on forums.

righto sparky. I hope you are not this negative in real life too. Must be a depressing existence.

The only thing that goes on in the forums is PGI LIED TO ME AND KICKED MY CAT AND I WANT MY PHOENIX PACKAGE REFUNDED AND IM SEEKING LEGAL ACTION TO GET MY FOUNDERS REFUNDED.

In short -- you can only read that non-sense from the same 3 people that keep posting it repeatedly before you just go and do something else

I couldn't even type a reply on a different thread before three new ones came in. I don't see any dead forums here.

Move along, move along...

Judging on the September CDU, the other threads are probably just getting nuked instantly. The September CDU should have been well on its way to threadnaught status, except 2 out of 3 posts are being insta-gibbed, regardless of how innocuous they may be.

To be fair, there's a good reason for most of the threads getting nuked or moved. Such as having nothing to do with gameplay balance (like this one), or if there's other, better places to discuss a particular topic (like 3PV going into Com-star focus group.)

yeah, I had a hard time figuring where I should have put this thread.

I guess a general discussion board would have done the trick...
