Build

I have been having good fun with this build. Very well rounded, I just don't know if it's enough at this weight class.

Please try and be objective :D

I can't really give you an in depth critique, but here are some general things I've noticed:

You have a ton of LRM ammo in the left arm, wouldn't it be safer in the center torso? There might be some games where your CT armor is all stripped and someone gets a crit and your ammo explodes, but in my opinion if your armor is stripped you're probably going down pretty soon.(Unless you think no one is going to shoot at an Awesome's arm. Or is it because ammo in the arm is supposedly used first?)

I'd put the TAG in the left torso and a medium laser in the head, this will allow you to fight back if you lose both side torsos and arms. It doesn't happen too frequently as everyone seems to shoot at an Awesome's CT, but I've had it happen a couple times.

really strange build, you should use AWS-8T for this kind of build.
right now you have 2LRM15 fired through single 15 tube launcher its a bad idea if you want to get some real damage of those 750 lrm rounds, so you probably want to drop one lrm15 and add another er-ppc with some dhs, or add extra lrm15 instead of er-ppc
and about er-ppc its a bad weapon(too much heat and you wont use its range on most maps) and it works poorly with lrms, you better switch to normal ppc since they have similar effective range as lrms (around 500m)
and drop that bap you don't need it and cram in some extra lrm or ams ammo

in conclusion: decide what you want to play, ppc fire support with lrms, or lrm fire support with ppc's, right now your build doesn't seem very balanced to me, and take a closer look on aws-8t its probably better variant for you
PS: probably you should drop tag as well, its a great tool for real lrm boats almost must have, but you dosent have that "killing tag stare" like real lrm60 boats so you probably will want to take cover instead of tagging your opponent while taking much more damage than you deliver

Ammo in the CT is always a bad idea; higher chance for it to get crit and blow yourself up. The ammo in my arm is going to be consumed first so it wont be there for long.

TAG in the head helps b/c it's sitting higher and can be less of a pain to target people over rocks or obstacles. The medium lasers together are beneficial to avoid convergence problems.

I might consider changing it to have some zombie longevity, thanks for the input.

I know it's a strange build, but on a STD engine you can get in LoS to get full use of the tag+artemis combo, and with the ERPPC firing in between I have gotten decent dmg scores with this build.

The thing with the ERPPC+LRM combo is the PPC is 540-1080m, whereas the ERPPC is 810-1620m. With LRM maxing out at 1000m, and even the TAG at 750m, I can still get full dmg out of my ERPPC instead of doing less dmg, due to drop off, with the PPC.

Concerning the TAG, I've always rationalized that LRM30 is when it's worthwhile to start using TAG. The concentrated dmg it provides starts to get noticeable at LRM30 up.

Having run Awesomes for a little while now... If you are going to build long range, run with it. "Well Rounded" often means weak at every range (at least until we get Clan LRMS). 3 LRM 15's are way better than 2 lrm 15s. Your build is very solid. I'm not sure what order ammo gets used up, would be great to know. The ER PPC is a heat pig, and on most maps, you really won't get the full advantage out of it. The head based Tag unit is a good idea, it lets you peek over terrain and leave yourself almost completely covered. Zombie effects don't happen on Awesomes very often. You have a HUGE Center Torso. As with most variants of this mech, keep one arm designated as your damage shield, and turn it towards incoming fire. I would say the best way to test the mech is to run a half dozen missions of it configured each way you think it might work. I run mine with a few medium lasers and tag, and I find the heat is not an issue. An ER PPC might cause some inconvenient shutdowns if you aren't careful.
