Yes, they are crazy expensive.

Ironically, I'd buy lots of them if they were micro transactions ... say a quarter of their present price.

But while they are at their present prices (even when discounted, still to dear for what you get) I amy buying none instead.

I don't care if you're a founder. Guess what....I drink coffee in the morning.
Oh, and I bought the Overlord package. Take that!

You're really uninteresting, so spare me your whining. If you think 1250 for unlocking a color is 'stupid' then I will call you a little crying ****. Ok, now we're even. Have a nice day.

If being interessting means to be like you are... man I'm glad that I'm boring.

So I whine because I think that 1250 mc is a little overpriced? Do you type randomly or do you even bother to read what others write... or yourself before pressing the post-button?

And I think that you don't get the point here at all. It is in their best interest to make their price policy appealing to as many gamers as possible so that they earn more money then only some (like you for example) buying it.
I thought this is not to difficult to understand... but I guess I was to boring to be right there :)

BTW I have the overlord so safe your breath.
Greetings mechwarrior.

Colors should be around $1-$2 each. Premium maybe $3. Not $5.50 for a Premium Color (Rough Cash Value of 1,000 MC)

The colors, while high, I can live with, as once I unlock a color I can use it on every mech I own. Granted, they are encouraging me to buy a minimum of colors, but I've gotten a few. The camo schemes are what I don't get. OK, charge a premium for Phranken and the really unique looks, but for the price they're asking for the camo patterns, they should also apply to every mech I own. As it stands, I'll buy perhaps one pattern for my very favorite mech, and run the rest as default.

The OP is so right! The skins and colours are way too expensive.

They would make so much more money by inviting poeple to buy into the customisation idea. Right now it seems that most people are going to be happy to just play the game.

Maybe take a suggestion from PS2 and offer customisation bundles?

Maybe offer a skin and 3 colours for 2000MC for a limited time and see how many people go for it.

Limited time bundles have unlimited potential and can be linked to country colours, house colours, holidays... anything that gets people interested and involved.

This whole elitist thing is old and doesn't work.

I've been trying to get a lava/magma camo colors for my mech like red/orange to Orange/Yellow that stands out but the basic colors are dull and don't stand out too well and for a basic 1,250,000 c-bills is a bit much perhaps if if only half that much for the basic paints and standard could go to 1,250,000 c-bills. And I voted there needs to be more c-bill paints to camo a mech the way you like it without having the use mc's which can be used else where.

Here is my opinion how paints/camo's should be priced at.
leave the mc prices the same and just readjust c-bill prices some.

Basic- 625,000 c-bills half priced.
Standard- 1,250,000 C-bills.
Premium- 1000 MCs or 2,500,000 c-bills.
Camo- 2,000,000 c-bills per permanent choice. 75K c-bill single use.
Custom- 3,000,000 c-bills per permanent choice. 125K c-bill single use.

Whould also be nice to add a lava/magma camo or custom to match Terra Therma colors and style.

yeah, maybe make the new c-bill colors that are awesome just real expensive for c-bills. Anyhow, I just wish they'd do a challenge again, like the other two they did in the past, and if you succeed you get to choose one free MC camo or one free MC color.

I honestly cannot believe the arrogance from a few players in this thread. How does having affordable camo effect your life in any way? Oh wait, its another case of "I have mine, you can't have yours".. sorry, how foolish of me to think there was actually any rational explanation.

Anyway, in WoT an average of 75 gold gets you a permanent camo unlock for a given tank. You can purchase 1250 gold for $6.95 currently. This comes out to $.41 for a permanent camo unlock. Magically, WarGaming has not gone broke or had to shut down from having affordable camouflage. Oh, and Camouflage offers coded tactical advantages in WoT, but not in MWO.

I see no logical reason for camo to be so exorbitantly expensive, except to squeeze money out of people.

Someone in their accounting department hasn't done the math figured out that if they were to reduce their charge for paint by (in my opinion) 80% they would sell probably 10 times the amount of paints and make MORE money.

I'd gladly spend my MC in small increments until its gone, but the large chunks that they want make me tight fisted.

And since it is virtual anyway, it costs them nothing to sell more colours cheaply

And what happens when the Clans enter the fray? Can they not get their canon camouflage patterns for cheap or even free?

The prices for individual colors and camo skins are ridiculous right now. They should in fact sell "color packages" or "themes" and not just individual colors.

I also think that all colors should be available to purchase with both CBills and MC.

Take examples on Planetside 2!

the prize for colors and camo is absolutly justified !!

just think about the overhelming customisation options it offers after you invested enought money !

and then compare it to something other f2p games offer for free or after reaching in-game-goals

like this one ....

..... oh wait :D

I think people should wait until community warfare and achievements are in before they bawl about the price of colors. It have been hinted at that you will be able to earn some camo and paint from loyalty pint progression and that they might put some in to achievements.

Beyond that... Just wait for a sale and get them then. They have one every other weekend.

Y'know how much a whole pallet(more than 100) of colors costs in Warframe? $5, and that's even with purchasing the lowest platinum package.

Let's not mention that Warframe is actually built around personalizing your character cause you'll be looking at it from behind, and in the loadout screen, the whole time.

Here's a question, why are "orange" and "black" premiums colors. I get why gunmetal grey is premium, and aqua whatever, but shouldn't the most basic colors be considered basic colors?

Luxury/vanity items are supposed to be expensive.
Mech prices, on the other hand...
