I am totally itching to pre-order Project Phoenix, I will quite happily pay money for single player games I KNOW I will play and get my monies worth..... What I am worried about is going off MWO by the time October rolls around, will I be able to get a refund if I change my mind at some point before the mechs are delivered and I have not claimed any premium time? Cheers

No they aren't going to issue you a refund your just going to have to take your chances.

Also I am in the same boat. I think the $80 Phoenix Package is a hell of a deal and would buy it right now if I got instant access to everything. But I am thinking the same thing, "Am I going to be still playing this game in 3.5 months or will I be doing something else?"

That's not a knock on MWO as I am really enjoying myself with it NOW....but there are a few new MMOs that are suppose to release this year, plus right now I am single and when I am dating, my gaming goes way, way down (better things to do <wink>). Basically 3 months is a long, long time to wait for something.

They did give out refunds for the Founders Program, players just sent in a request to support and they processed it. I don't know if they will do the same for Phoenix.

Wait two patches if you're nervous. Within 2 patches you'll still be in time for the early bird special and hopefully see if they fix balance a bit by then.

I believe with the Founder's Pack you were able to get a refund up until they stopped offering it for sale by emailing the support team. They'll eventually announce when this sale will no longer be purchasable, so I'd assume you have up until that date. You should probably email a support staff and ask about it though, just to make sure.

Not going to happen. The situation behind the Founder's Package had lots of unsual circumstances surrounding it that don't exist currently. For example most founders, myself included thought that the money we invested in the Founder's Program was going to be used ONLY to support the development of MWO. Then we all found out through a Shareholders annoucement that something like 2/3 of it got siphoned off to other projects NONE OF US CARED ABOUT.

Lots of anger there, believe me.

Then there were issues with how they were going to activiate the premium time and make it premanent even though we were technically playing a beta (a fact they never mentioned in the advertisment). Then there was issues with the early beta access, i.e. the game appeared much more complete from an outside view and it wasn't until you bought the founder's pack and were granted access that you found out how behind they really were. There were also several other issues that I don't recall.

The point is, they offer refunds because they made some huge mistakes and needed to make them right with the players. Now is different, the game is open and accessable and you know exactly what your getting and how it is going to work.

Nope, they aren't going to give refunds so despite what they did with the Founder's...DO NOT COUNT ON BEING ABLE TO GET A REFUND....you have been warned.

I can see where you are coming from Vikor, totally, when you talk about where the money is going, but when it comes to money, I have to be fairly selfish, I do not care whether money I pay goes into other games, or into the game I am playing, all I care about is value for money..... And as you said in your first post " I think the $80 Phoenix Package is a hell of a deal and would buy it right now if I got instant access to everything " I agree.... I have spent a fair amount of disposable income on this game, not because I think I am investing in its future, but because I am really enjoying playing it.... I have bought a few hero mechs and then sold them because I have realised they were not for me. And yet I do not think of that as a loss of money, I have then bought other mechs with CBills and loved it... It would be nice if a Dev were to reply one way or another.... The other thing others have said is I should wait 'till xxxx patch.... That in itself seems strange, I have been into a few MMO's for years at some points, paid a small fortune in subscription fees, all for exactly the same game, nothing changed in massive patches regarding balance/power/one shotting etc and yet there came a day when I logged on and just did not want to play anymore... But with those 3 or 4 games I had not forked out $80 3 months ahead of time....

Well, I missed my chance at being a founder, and I don't know if there will be any such thing as a Clan founders Pack. I've been wanting for a chance to jump aboard the MWO train an Project Phoenix looks like my ticket on. I spent money as a member on MC's and have nothing to show for it, no title, rank, faction, etc., now I am an Overlord, and even though I'm a LoneWolf, I can use 1-4 of faction tags to help me thru the coming war with the Clans. if your going to play this game and be a fan, Project Phoenix is a Bargain. enjoy peace out!

I heard something about this. Do you have a source ? I would like to see the evidence.

Im waiting (and saving) into september I figure that is the most likely for their cut-off date for ProPho orders, I figure by then I'll know if I want to spend $60 or save my money and hope for a $30(ish) Heroic Orion.

ProPhro Budget Currently: $10......gagumit being poor sucks.

In the main Phoenix thread it's been confirmed that all funda from Phoenix stays in MWO.

Also lots of people got refunds in founders, had their badge removed and some even bought back into it.

Consumer laws are where the servers are located - but usually you can receive a refund if the goods have not been delivered. You can change your mind then. You can only get a refund on delivered goods if they're defective or not what was advertised, not because you changed your mind after the fact.
And please don't start with the 'but in my country' cos that doesn't mean jack in a practical sense... your country's law means squat to another sovereign country.

Why don't you practice patience and not purchase it until you are sure you will still be playing it? At least wait until the early bird special ends if you aren't sure.

Russ states in NGNG podcast #79 that 100% of funds from Project Phoenix goes to MWO

Not that they would really know the laws of their own country anyway. I see customers all day long who think they're some kind of legal expert in consumer protection law, but 99% of the time they're 100% wrong.

If you have an hour, this is a good podcast to listen to with lots of info. Hopefully it helps solidify your choice on the game and convince you to show your support.

http://www.nogutsnog...b530d8c9046c6f3

12v12 will hit in july ~1 week for a public test, along with a new map. UI 2.0 is going strong, points on community warfare, project phoenix, the history on the lawsuits, etc. Russ gives quite a bit of insight in upcoming content. You can tell how he talks they're giving their all for this game. All the funds from Phoenix goes straight back 100% into the game. So buying the package, you can have the piece of mind that you're helping create this game to be better.

Two main questions i think are good to ask: Are you having fun right now? Do you want to support this game?

If, yes, and yes, I'd buy that package in a heart beat. It's a solid deal. I bought two packages, and thinking about a third if another friend joins.

@OP

If you can afford the 80$ package, then that's the only one worth your money.

The 60 and below packs will feel like a rip off come October 15th.

Send your question to support@mwomercs.com
They will give you a correct and official answers. :) Cheers. Usually, back when founders package were on, sometimes they would honor a refund.
